COOUTH CMD Akabuike, Receives Award From UNAA, Awka Branch

The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, Hon. Dr. Joe Akabuike (Okaa obuluzo), has received an award of (Icon of Health Management and Service to Humanity, in special recognition of his immense contributions to humanity) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association (UNAA), Awka branch.
Hon. Dr. Akabuike received the award during the 2022 UNAA Awka Branch's Alumni Association Forum and End of Year/Award Ceremony.
The event which was held in Awka attracted members of the Association from far and wide, friends, dignitaries, Government officials, family members, among others.
Speaking during the event, the President of the Association, Dr. Chinedu Mbalisi, said the event was designed to honour their icons for their service to humanity.
Dr. Mbalisi described Dr. Akabuike as one of the shining lights of the Association who had distinguished himself in both service to God and humanity, hence the need to honour him to spur him to do more.
Receiving the award, Dr. Akabuike, flanked by his wife, Dr. Nkiru Akabuike, top Management Staff of COOUTH, friends and well wishers, expressed delight over the award and thanked the UNAA Awka branch for finding him worthy.
The COOUTH CMD, assured that he would continue to work for the progress of the Association at all times and thanked the organizers of the event for a job well done.
Some of the dignitaries that accompanied Dr Akabuike at the event were the Special Adviser to Anambra Governor, Chukwuma Soludo on Medicals and Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Nnadozie Okechukwu, who is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Oxygen Gas Plant; the National Vice President, Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene; the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) COOUTH, Dr. Emmanuel Mba.
Others were, the Head, Department of Accounts, COOUTH, Mr. Okey Nworie; Nodal Officer, COOUTH SERVICOM, Ozo Obiora Ezumezu; Head, Department Pharmacy, Dr. Obiageli Uchebo, among others.
