*EDO STATE NMA CELEBRATES ESAMA OF BENIN'S 90TH BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY*

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Edo State Branch, today(9th September 2024),joined millions worldwide to celebrate the 90th birthday anniversary of His Excellency, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion,the Esama of Benin Kingdom.

The Chairman of the Association who led the delegation, Dr.Eustace Oseghale,commended the Esama for his significant contributions to the medical sector in Edo State and beyond, particularly in training and employment of doctors. He wished the Esama good health and many more fulfilling years.

To commemorate the occasion, NMA Edo State is providing free medical consultation, counseling, screening and referral services.

Chief Igbinedion,in his remarks expressed his gratitude and assured the Association of his continued fatherly role in medical practice in the state.

The State Officers Committee sincerely appreciates the Medical Elders, Past Chairmen, and members who took time to join the celebration, making it a huge success. Notably, we thank:

The Edo NMA is thrilled to announce the commencement of our newly built creche/holding centre, and we are seeking qualified and experienced organisations to join us as managers. This state-of-the-art facility aims to provide exceptional care for children and create a nurturing environment that prioritizes their well-being and development. It is a first of its kind that provides 24 hours care, also a first of its kind holding centre in the state. As you can now travel for your exams, holidays without bordering about your child /ward wellbeing, they will be taken to school and helped with their school work while you are away. It is a home away from home with access to health care and top notch security.

Requirements of Organisation owners:

1. Demonstration of experience in managing a similar venture, such as a creche, daycare, or any childcare facility, is highly desirable.
2. Possess social credibility and a track record of maintaining excellent professional relationships.
3. Must have a registered business name with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
4. Provide evidence of business tax returns.

Additional Criteria:
5. Strong leadership and organizational skills to effectively manage staff and ensure smooth operations.
6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities to interact with parents, guardians, and children.
7. Knowledge of child development and early childhood education is an advantage.
8. Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and child protection.
9. Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with relevant regulations.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Edo State Chapter, hosted her maiden remarkable award ceremony to honour about thirty five (35) exceptional medical professionals, amongst whom were a few respectable noble non medical members of the society into their prestigious Wall of Fame.

One of the persons that was honored was Apostle Johnson Suleman. The chairman of the Nigerian medical association said Apostle (Prof.) Johnson Suleman (who was unavoidably absent because of his very busy schedule) is being applauded and honoured in a remarkable way today by Edo State doctors for his various sacrificial aids to humanity. In an interview she said Several Hundreds of widows and orphans are in his monthly payroll and scholarships.

DOCTORS IN EDO STATE HONOURS APOSTLE SULEMAN

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Edo State Chapter, hosted her maiden remarkable award ceremony to honour about thirty five (35) exceptional medical professionals, amongst whom were a few respectable noble non medical members of the society into their prestigious Wall of Fame.

This Event was put together by the Chairmen of the local organising committee Drs. Ehondor Ogie Tada and Adewole Afolabi.
The event took place at the doctors house on the 20th of December and was graced by the presence of distinguished politicians, medical elders, and various esteemed guests.

The award ceremony witnessed an enthralling performance by a live dance band, electrifying the atmosphere with their enchanting melodies. In a display of extraordinary talent,
Dr Adewole Afolabi - HOD, Family Medicine, UBTH (Keyboardist) & Dr Omoruyi Aibieyi - SR/Chief Resident, Dept. Of Chemical Pathology, UBTH (Drummer) demonstrated their prowess by skillfully playing the keyboard and drums, captivating the audience and adding a unique touch to the event.

The highlight of the evening was the unveiling and Commissioning of the Edo NMA Wall of Fame, by His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comr. Phillip Shaibu, ably represented by his lovely Wife, Mrs Mariam Shaibu.
The Edo NMA wall is meticulously crafted with professional paintings and enchanting glowing lights. This elegant display will forever honor the accomplished medical professionals and noble supporters of doctors in Edo State, their pictures hung in the corridor of Edo NMA, providing a source of inspiration for all who will ever tread the ground of Edo NMA and the doctors house.
Amongst those honoured was Apostle (Prof.) Johnson Suleman, a renowned philanthropist, televangelist and the senior pastor of Omega fire ministries.

The chairman of the Nigerian medical association said Apostle Johnson Suleman (who was unavoidably absent because of his very busy schedule) is being applauded and honoured in a remarkable way today by Edo State doctors for his various sacrificial aids to humanity. In an interview she said Several Hundreds of widows and orphans are in his monthly payroll and scholarships.

Speaking the chairman who is a consultant family physician with the Edo State Hospital management agency said Apostle Johnson has paid several millions of naira for patients who cannot afford to pay their medical bills within and without Edo state. Much was also said about the free feeding of thousands of indigent Nigerians weekly in the Edo North senatorial district by Apostle Johnson Suleman,which is another act that speaks volumes of the kind heartedness of this great man.

Some Executives of the association revealed that very soon the Nigerian Medical association will be on the list of beneficiaries of the Apostles benevolence as he has pledged to them in a private meeting with some leaders of the association.

The Nigerian Medical Association, Edo State Chapter, expresses profound gratitude to Apostle (Prof.) Johnson Suleman for his commendable contribution to humanity.
