DANGERS OF CONSUMING TOO MUCH SALT
Although, salt may add flavor to our everyday meal and also help preserve food, it contains about 60% chloride and 40%sodium.
The risk of consuming salt often outweighs its BENEFITS.
👉 BLOOD PRESSURE: Eating too much salt increases the blood pressure, risk of heart attack and stroke
👉 GASTRIC CANCER: High intake of salt induce atrophic gastritis a precursor to stomach cancer.
👉 WEIGHT GAIN: Too much dietary salt may increase the body weight up to three pounds.
👉 ASTHMA: Consuming less salt leads to improved airways and pulmonary function, especially in patients with exercise-induced asthma.
👉OSTEOPOROSIS: Calcium is excreted along with excess sodium, which leads to weaker bones.
