just a friendly reminder :

1. Ampiclox ( by Beecham or any other brand), Alabukun, Andrews liver salt, hot 7 up etc are not contraceptives. They do not prevent pregnancy.

2. Putting a spoon or any object into the mouth of someone convulsing is wrong and dangerous.

3. Applying a tourniquet (to tie a rope) above the site of a snake bite or insect sting is not advisable. You may think you are trying to prevent the venom from spreading right? Actually, you are actually compromising blood flow to the leg or area and putting it at risk.

4. The genetic component for having a male child is possessed and transferred by the father/man. So stop harassing the woman with all that "you cannot give us a male child" drama. It is the man that is responsible. I wonder why in this modern age, people still cry over a particular gender.

5. Self breast examination is very important. It should be done at least once a month(men can have breast cancer too)

6. Some diseases can be transmitted through kissing. E.g Herpes, hepatitis B etc

7. " hypertension and Diabetes are not in my family" does not make you automatically immune to them. Go for regular blood pressure and blood sugar checks

8. Surgical procedures/operstions are not of the devil. They are interventions to help save life.

9. Female circumcision /female ge***al mutilation is wrong and must be condemned. It has numerous negative effects.

10. Condoms do not protect against ALL venereal diseases but it has by far more benefits than having reckless unprotected sexual in*******se

11. Using hot water to press or massage your tummy or tying your tummy after delivery is totally unnecessary and ridiculous. There are recommended exercises to help your tummy tone. As for your womb, it would return to almost it's initial size on its own.

12. Douching or using soap to wash inside your va**na is wrong and increases the risk of va**nal candidiasis etc

13. Using ear buds/cotton buds to clean inside your ears is wrong. The ear cleans itself.

14. Not all fever is malaria. Take note.

15. Skin bleaching/ toning/whitening is wrong and dangerous to your health.

16. Being HIV positive is not a death sentence. You can be positive and still enjoy good health and long life as long as you are compliant with your medication, obey your doctor's instructions and guess what? You can have cildren and they would be negative, yes, negative.

[8/26, 3:11 AM] chidinma Augustine: *Hepatitis B* is a serious liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus. The virus is usually spread from person to person through contact with blood and or body fluids of someone who has the infection.

It can cause both acute and chronic infections. Many people have no symptoms during the initial infection.

Symptoms of hepatitis B can range from mild to severe. If you have a mild case of hepatitis, you may not even realize that you have it.

Some of the symptoms may includes the following :

1- loss of appetite
2- nausea
3- vomiting
4- body aches
5- mild fever
6- dark urine
7- jaundice
8- abdominal pain
9- join pain
10- weakness and fatigue

No drugs available that can clear or destroy hepatitis B virus . But drugs available that can stop the virus from replicating, thus minimizing liver damage.

Acute hepatitis B infection does not usually require treatment and most adults clear the infection spontaneously.

Those with current cirrhosis are in most need of treatment.

There are a number of medical treatments available that are often successful. These include treatment with antiviral medicines like :

1- lamivudine
2- adefovir
3- tenofovir
4- telbivudine
5 entecavir

But the World Health Organization recommended a combination of tenofovir and entecavir as first line agents.

*Hepatitis B* is caused by infection with the hepatitis B virus.

Transmission of hepatitis B virus results from exposure to infectious blood or body fluids containing blood.

Possible forms of transmission include :

- You can get the virus if you have unprotected sexual contact with an infected partner

- People who use intravenous drugs can get hepatitis B when they share needles with someone who has the virus

- through untested blood transfusions
