At a time where climate change, hunger and malnutrition remains persistent, it's important to create awareness on the power of our indigenous foods when effectively utilised.

Biodiversity remains at the forefront of protecting food systems and ensuring food security both in quantity and quality.

Every time we choose local foods, we protect biodiversity, nourish our bodies, and keep our traditions alive. Let’s stop abandoning what nourished generations before us for what only fills the belly but weakens the system that allow us grow and thrive.

Have you ever brought out a bottle of groundnut oil in the morning and it looks like candle wax? Solid, white, and crystal-like?

Let me tell you something: That oil should not be in your kitchen.

Vegetable oil like groundnut oil is meant to be liquid at room temperature. When it turns solid and waxy, it’s often because it has been over-refined, poorly stored, or contains unhealthy trans fats that make it more shelf-stable but dangerous for your heart.

Gone are the days when we put oil under the sun just to be able to cook. That’s not normal and it’s not healthy.

✅ Choose oils that remain liquid at room temperature.
✅ Go for trusted, cold-pressed, or less-refined oils.
✅ Say no to plastic rubber full of mystery oils that solidify overnight.

Your heart will thank you.

Folate is a Micronutrient that all Pregnant Women and women of childbearing age cannot afford to miss.

Folate deficiency isn’t just about low energy or poor diet. This vitamin may be small, but without it, a child’s life can change before birth. From spine defects to delayed growth, the impact can be dangerous to households and community and the country development.

However, it is preventable. With the right foods, fortified options, and timely intake even before conception. 💜
