TOOTH ACHE!!
I will try my best to explain it so you can understand.
What causes toothaches
1. Tooth decay (cavities): Imagine your tooth is like a house with a wall. When bacteria in your mouth eat sugary foods, they produce acid that can damage the wall (tooth enamel). If the wall gets damaged, it can create a hole (cavity) that reaches the soft part of the tooth (nerves), causing pain.
2. Gum disease: Your gums are like the foundation of your teeth. When plaque (a sticky substance) builds up on your teeth, it can irritate your gums and make them infected. This infection can cause your gums to pull away from your teeth, leading to pain.
3. Tooth sensitivity: Think of tooth enamel like a protective shield. When this shield gets worn out or your gums recede (pull back), the softer part of your tooth (dentin) gets exposed. This can cause sharp pains when you eat or drink hot or cold things.
4. Cracked tooth: Sometimes, teeth can crack due to injury or grinding. When this happens, the crack can reach the nerve of the tooth, causing pain.
How can you prevent tooth ache?
1. Dental care: Brushing your teeth regularly with fluoride toothpaste, flossing to remove food particles, and visiting your dentist for check-ups can help prevent toothaches.
Brushing with activated charcoal once or twice in a month will also help prevent tooth ache.
Bacteria that causes tooth decay feeds on sugar. Avoiding sugary food or rinsing your mouth thereafter will help too.
How to relieve toothache
1. Saltwater rinse: Dissolve some salt in warm water and swish it around your mouth. This can help reduce swelling and ease the pain.
2. Over the counter pain medicine will also help relieve toothache but you need to take these with caution.
