Honoring a Legacy of Service
On Thursday, 11th September 2025, the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) held a Valedictory Ceremony in honor of Elder Sunday Omini Ekpo Eloma, FCA, FIPM, FCTI , a man who has rendered 24 years of distinguished service, including 18 impactful years as Director of Finance and Accounts (DFA).
The event, held at the UCTH Conference Hall, was filled with heartfelt tributes celebrating Elder Eloma’s remarkable contributions to the hospital’s financial growth and stability. Beyond his role as custodian of our finances, he has been a mentor, a pillar of support, and a source of inspiration to many.
The ceremony also featured a send-forth celebration for other retirees of the Finance and Accounts Department, whose dedication and professionalism have laid a strong foundation for future generations.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Medical Director , represented by Dr. Mrs. Maria-Maureen Bassey, Director of Administration , described Elder Eloma as a man of wisdom, integrity, and foresight, whose leadership successfully guided UCTH from analogue to digital financial systems. His legacy will remain indelible in the annals of the hospital.
To Elder Eloma and all our distinguished retirees, we say thank you. Your names are engraved in the history of UCTH, and your example will continue to inspire those who come after you.
