DEAR ANONYMOUS
Your question is Good
It will make others learn.
Let me break it down.
Gout is an inflammatory arthritis that leads to chronic pain and swelling in your joints and other parts of the body... BUT DO YOU KNOW
People with high blood levels of uric acid are prone to Gout.
LET ME EXPLAIN
Uric acid is a substance produced in the body when proteins and chemicals called purines are broken down.
It can accumulate in the blood when the body produces too much uric acid and or the kidneys do not excrete enough.
The uric acid is deposited as sharp crystals in a joint where they accumulate and cause inflammation and severe sometimes excruciating pain.
The joint at the base of the big toe is most commonly affected. The first attack of gouts usually comes without warning and often wakes the individual early in the morning.
PEOPLE who eat a high protein diet may have High uric acid levels, as may those who are obese or who drink excess amounts of alcohol.
GOUT patients must avoid the following
1. Reducing alcohol
2. Weight reduction
3. Avoiding Purine rich food
4. Cut down refined and starchy food
