HEPATITIS B VIRUS SPREADS FASTER THAN HIV… Get tested Today and Take your vaccine 💉💉..
As someone that has spent seven years as a medical student, and now I practise as a doctor.
Over that time, I’ve noticed something worrying.
We are seeing more cases of liver failure than before — and many people are shocked when they finally find out why.
What many people don’t know is that the most common cause of liver failure in Nigeria today is Hepatitis B.
Hepatitis B is a virus that attacks the liver. It spreads through:
• Unprotected sexual in*******se
• Unscreened blood transfusion
• Sharing sharp objects like razors or clippers
• From an infected mother to her baby during childbirth
If someone gets this virus, two things can happen.
In some people, the immune system clears it completely.
In others, the virus stays quietly in the liver for years — slowly causing damage that can eventually lead to liver failure.
The scary part?
Many people feel perfectly fine while this is happening.
That’s why I encourage everyone:
go and get tested.
Hepatitis B is actually more easily transmitted than HIV, so please don’t assume you don’t have it.
If your test is negative, take the next step — get vaccinated.
You need three doses for full protection, and most hospitals offer this.
And if your test comes back positive, don’t panic.
Please report to a hospital so you can be properly assessed and managed. Many people with Hepatitis B live healthy, normal lives with the right care.
If you have questions or concerns, feel free to ask.
Your liver matters.
