Our Congress Meeting and Induction of New members was a blast! 🥳🥳🥳
From the very start, the atmosphere was charged with energy and inspiration. Asso. Prof. Vivian Alofe set the tone with a heartfelt opening speech that reminded us why our fight against Antimicrobial Resistance is one of the most urgent public health missions of our time.
We were honored to learn from Dr. Abala of the Department of Basic Medical Sciences, whose lecture on Antimicrobial Resistance was both eye-opening and deeply informative.
We were glad to have the President of the Club, Victor Ogili share about the impacts we have made — from community outreaches and school engagements to street campaigns — all powered by a team that refuses to stay silent in the face of a global health crisis.
One of the most moving moments of the day came from Mr. Ugwuoti Marios, our dynamic SUG President. His speech left us all stirred, reminding every student leader in the room that advocacy begins with voice and action.
We also hosted a panel discussion moderated by the brilliant Calista Iyoke and featured by Adaobi Anisolu , Hakeemah Abdulrasheed and Nnadi Jennifer , where ideas flowed, perspectives were challenged, and a united vision emerged: AMR is everyone’s fight, and together, we are stronger.
Interestingly, we welcomed our newly inducted members into the AMR Club family — young leaders, advocates, and changemakers ready to step into the frontlines. We also proudly presented certificates to the new executives, now officially equipped and recognized to steer our mission forward.
🎉 The outcome?
A stronger, more energized AMR Club. A growing movement of informed students. And a deeper partnership between leadership, faculty, and the community.
We remain grateful to the pillars who make our journey possible:
🙏 Prof. John Emaimo (Vice Chancellor),
Prof. Cajetan Nwadinigwe(Deputy Vice Chancellor),
Rev. Sr. Dr. Henrietta Onyinye Uzoeto (Staff Adviser, and Academic director FUAHSE), and our ever-supportive Asso. Prof. Vivian Alofe — your encouragement, leadership, and commitment to excellence continue to shape the future of healthcare advocacy on our campus and beyond.
The journey continues. One voice, one action, one life at a time — we are building an AMR-aware generation.
