                                            CPR: THE NEED OF THE MOMENT
INTRODUCTION: CPR an acronym for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is a lifesaving technique that is used when someone’s heart stops beating. CPR can be performed on anyone, regardless of age or size. When CPR situation occurs, do not panic, take the following steps;
 #1. Check for Danger
 #2. Call for help
 #3. Check the Victim’s Airway
 #4. Give Two Rescue Breaths
 #5. Perform Chest Compressions
 #6. Switch Roles with the Compressor (if available)
 #7. Continue Compressions until Advanced Medical help arrives.
 : Ensure the individual needs help (unconscious).
 : Alert Medical Personnel of a medical emergency.
 : Check the person’s breathing and pulse by feeling the side of his/her neck. If the person does not have any signs of breathing or circulation, CPR must be started right away.
 : Give two Rescue breaths to the person (Nose to Nose, mouth to mouth)
 : Clear the person’s airways. Clear the person’s mouth of any obstructions that have been blocking their airway.
 : If the person is not breathing, start chest compressions by pushing down on their chest at a rate of 100-120 compressions per minute at a depth of about 2inches. It is important to remember to count out loud as well as this will help keep track of your number of compressions.
  _7: Exchange with another if you get tired and medical team has not arrived. Continue chest compressions until the person starts breathing on their own or emergency medical help arrives.
 : If the person starts coughing or vomiting, turn them onto their side to prevent them from choking on their own vomit. This would result in any vomit expelled by the person being directed away from the airway and out of their mouth.

CPR is an invaluable skill that can prove lifesaving in medical emergencies. It helps us keep oxygen moving to body's vital organs until medical help arrives. In all, remember that wrong CPR is still better than No CPR.
