The CEO/Executive Chairman Enugu State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Eric Odo has called for Inter-Professional collaboration among all cadres of healthcare workers in the state.
He made the call at poly general hospital Asata Enugu on a tour with his board of directors to ascertain the infrastructural capacity and requirements for optimal performance of the hospital..
He appreciated the effort of the newly Posted chief medical officer (CMO) Dr Ndu in ensuring that poly general hospital gradually gets back on track.The chief executive officer noted that under the watch of the erudite and cerebral Governor of Enugu state His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mba, the Health Sector will not only witness a shift in paradigm but will receive tremendous supports in terms of healthcare interventions, upgrade, equipping and provision of qualified doctors and other healthcare personnel.
In his response to the issues raised by various departmental heads on needs and requirements at their various sections, Dr. Odo revealed that the leadership of the Health Management Board has noted all that is required while those basic ones that can be instantly provided will be made available for immediate use and holistic overhaul in all facets of our secondary healthcare delivery/services will soon commence in earnest .
On the shortage of manpower, the CEO/ Executive Chairman of ENSHMB Dr. Eric Odo revealed that, Healthcare personnel will soon be recruited and deployed to facilities where their services are needed most.
Dr. Odo used the medium to call for value reorientation, introspection and attitudinal change among staff, stressing that the management of the Hospitals Management Board is working assiduously to restore confidence in health facilities, increase uptake of services and improve health care delivery in all secondary health care facilities.
The CMO of poly general hospital took the Chairman with his team on a tour within the hospital showing him various departments and their lack as enumerated by the heads of departments.

His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu state Barr. Peter Mba's vision for the secondary healthcare delivery is clear; to have an effective and sustainable healthcare system that will allow us to save more lives, reduce both physical and financial burden on patients as well as provide quality healthcare for NDI ENUGU.In line with this directives the Chief Executive officer/ chairman of Enugu State hospitals management board Dr. Eric Odo had an interactive engagement session with a digital firm with strong expertise in healthcare networking with the sole purpose of digitalizing all the processes in general hospitals in Enugu state. Explaining the objective of the digitalisation process Dr. Eric Odo said the platform will “serve as a central hub to enhance health system efficiency from obtaining registration card at the record unit through consultations, laboratory investigations, theatre/procedures units and then pharmacy will be fully automated and digitalized.This is to ensure timely patients' attendance, monitoring of public health cases in Enugu state such as disease outbreaks, seamless data exchange, quality assurance, healthcare personnel management and clinical/administrative data collection that is robust across our general hospitals.
In their response the healthcare Digital firm representative Mr. Celestine Ogbudeke narrated in sequence how the system works and ways of overcoming network glitches in facilities located in rural areas. At the end of the deliberations both parties assured each other of total commitment to enable effective and timely delivery of the service.

Accountants in the secondary healthcare facilities were charged to be deligent in carrying out their duties, this was made known in a meeting with the chairman of Enugu state hospital management Board, Dr. Eric Odo in an interactive session with all the accountants working at the secondary healthcare facilities in the 17 LGAs of the state in his office.

The chairman stated that the success of this regime in the Hospital Management Board and it's rise or fall depends on the accountability of the accountants.
He reminded them that nobody has the right to keep any government money beyond 24 hours and that the purpose of this gathering is to ensure an increase in the IGR in the sector for reinvestment. He emphasized that if the account system of any facility is not working nothing will work. He stated that we need to reinvest for our hospitals to work and function optimally
He promised to reward any accountant who is doing right and giving results In their various facilities.
Some of the accountants shared their challenges and promised to surmount them and work closely with the new Board management.
The chairman thanked the participants and promised to look into all their concerns, he said that some facilities that needs urgent attention will be provided with a POS Machine for the main time before a permanent solution will be made,he assured them of a good working relationship and wish them well in their various facilities.

PHARMACISTS IN THE STATE WERE TASK ON OPENNESS AND SINCERITY FOR AN EFFECTIVE, EFFICIENT AND COMMERCIALIZED HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IN THE STATE.

In continuation of his interactions with stakeholders in the secondary healthcare services in the state, the CEO of Enugu state hospital management Board Dr. Eric Odo met with pharmacists in all the secondary healthcare facilities in the state to clear the grey areas affecting their duties in drug supplies and accountability with respect to various facilities.

Dr. Odo reminded them that they are all stakeholders in the healthcare sector but bearing in mind everyone is under the authority of their Chief Medical Officers CMOs. He informed the pharmacists that government expects a complete paradigm shift from the ways things where done.
The new Board's management vision is to see an effective, efficient and commercialized secondary healthcare sector in the state to deliver good health care to Ndi Enugu
In the course of their interaction the pharmacists complained of the outdated price list of drugs and services, challenges of obtaining drugs from the central store

In his response the chairman promised a lot of things will be reviewed especially the price list of drugs and services, to reflect the current realities; he talked about digitalizing the system for effective and efficient service delivery . He reminded the pharmacists that the new Board will make sure that all drugs needed to meet prescriptions at their various facilities will be made available going by the new system the board is coming up with.

The Executive chairman thanked them for their openness and sincerity, he encouraged them to collaborate with other units in their various facilities because no one works in isolation. He informed them of various government plans for healthcare sector in the state and ask for their support in making it reality.
In conclusion Dr. Odo appreciated their contributions having listened to their peculiar challenges.

_*THE NEW CHAIRMAN OF ENUGU STATE HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT BOARD GIVES MARCHING ORDERS FOR PERFORMANCE TO CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICERS.

The newly appointed Chairman of the Enugu state hospital management Board Dr. Eric Ogbonna Odo held an interactive session with chief medical officers (CMOs) of the state secondary healthcare facilities in the 17 local government areas of Enugu state.

In the meeting Dr. Odo draw the attention of the CMOs to their mandates of ensuring that adequate and efficient healthcare services are provided in their various facilities in the state.

He charged them to ensure that no stone is left unturned in the discharge of their duties. He informed them that henceforth there is zero tolerance for nonperformance, noting that the objective and vision of the state government under the watch of His Excellency the Governor of Enugu state Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah to provide secondary healthcare services to ndi Enugu is sacrosanct.

He adviced them to do whatever they can in the discharge of their duties and that the Board will support them in this journey of very high performance,responsibilities and commitment toward delivering of secondary healthcare services. He noted that revenue generation is key for availability of drugs and equipment maintenance.
