Don’t Let Doubt Rob You

And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? — MATTHEW 14:31

Many times a miracle begins in a person’s life, and then doubt robs him or her of the full blessing. A miracle began in the life of Peter. He was walking on the water. But that miracle was never consummated. That miracle never came into full fruition. Why? According to Matthew 14:31, he let doubt get in.

I was preaching along this line one time, and an Assembly of God pastor said, “I understand something now that I didn’t understand before. As a young preacher, there were two women in my church. Both of them had cancer of the liver. By the time they both found out about it, they each had only a few weeks to live.

About that time, a healing evangelist came to the church. He prayed for the sick by the laying on of hands. And both women were gloriously and marvelously healed.

At the time this pastor spoke to me, fifteen or twenty years had passed since the women had been healed. Only one of them was still alive. The other had died. All her symptoms were gone for several months. Then she got up at a prayer meeting and said, “I want you all to pray for me. Those symptoms of cancer have come back on me.” Well, they prayed, but she let doubt get in. She grew steadily worse until she died.

Confession: I refuse to let doubt rob me of the blessings of God. I shut the door on
doubt. I choose instead to believe God’s Word. I act on what God’s Word says about me.

You are the presence of God on earth...
The presence of God is not in a church building ⛪, the presence of God is the believer in Christ.
Wherever you go, He is there with you.
You are the presence of God in your office. So God is in your work place because you are there.
You are the presence of God in your classroom.

You are the presence of God in the hospital ward.

If you are arrested and jailed, you carry that presence into the jail.

If you are in a car or plane, you carry with you the presence and glory of God.

Even where you are now, you are carrying the presence of God.

Some of you are still searching for the presence of God everyday... You play slow music to invite His presence... That's ignorance. When your eyes open to the truth that HE LIVES IN YOU, you will REST.

You are the very presence of God. He lives in you, not outside you. Know it.

Child of God, if you refuse to be different, you cannot make a difference in your generation. Your greatness in life lies in your decision to be different. If you want to excel in all affairs of life, then you don’t have to do what others do.
There is no mystery surrounding greatness; all you need to know is the secret that gives you mastery in the school of greatness. Caleb was a man who chose to be different from the rest. He refused to have the “grasshoppic” perception about life. He refused to see things the same way the other spies saw things.
Beloved, dare to be different. The only way to be extra-ordinary is to do that extra things after you have done the ordinary. When you do the same thing that others do, you will simply remain at the same level where they are. Refuse to accept what you are not. The only way to make a generational impact is by taking a decision to stand out by doing something different. The Bible says” But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, or with the wine which he drank” (Daniel 1:8a). Everybody is doing something, do not do nothing!

*_TOPIC:_ KNOWING GOD AND HIS MIND THROUGH PRAYER*

*SCRIPTURE* : Come,"and let us return unto the Lord": for he hath torn,"and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up… Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord…Hosea 6":1,"3a.

*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* ": Communion with God gives people the opportunity to really know the God they serve.

In our previous study,"we saw what prayer entails. One of them is that prayer is the platform for man’s communion with God.

Today, we want to look at what that communion with God achieves in the life of the prayerful. The question is, when a man prays and communes with God, what does that achieve in his life?

*1. The opportunity to know God (Hosea 6":1,"3a).*

Communion with God gives people the opportunity to really know the God they serve. Hosea 6":1,"3a says, “Come, and let us return unto the Lord": for he hath torn,"and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up… Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord….”

You cannot know a person you don’t spend time with. You really get to know people as you spend time with them. For instance, people could be in courtship for many years, yet they may not know each other well until they get married. This is because after marriage, they spend more time together and it would be difficult to hide things from each other then. Prayer makes you to know God. And the people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits (Daniel 11":32b).

*2. The opportunity to know God’s mind and will for your life (Habakkuk 2:1).*

The closer you get to God at the place of prayer,"the more of His Will and Mind for your life you will know. You will know what He wants you to do as you spend time with Him. Before God destroyed S***m and Gomorrah, He revealed His mind to Abraham at the place of prayer (Genesis 18":17). So,"the place of prayer is the place where the secrets of God are made known to men.

What God wants you to do in your life, in your business, in your career, etc. is revealed to you at the place of prayer. That means the more prayerful people are, the greater access they have to the will of God for their lives.

My counsel is, make up your mind to pray consistently. Refuse to live a “prayer-less” life.

*Remember this* ": Communion with God gives people the opportunity to really know the God they serve.

2. Pray to understand the will and mind of God in all areas of your life.

TOPIC: DISTINCTION BY WISDOM AND PURPOSE

SCRIPTURE: Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine,"and the boldness of his face shall be changed. Ecclesiastes 8":1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine.

It is clear from Scriptures that the way of wisdom is the way of stardom. To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine. The wisdom of God is behind the making of kingdom stars. Joseph was a man of wisdom who was established in stardom in the land of Egypt. This same wisdom made Daniel a star in the land of Babylon.

Now,"one way of reaching the place of stardom is KNOWING YOUR PURPOSE for living.

The knowledge of purpose is pathway to distinction. God began to tell Jeremiah his purpose on the earth in Jeremiah 1":5. The purpose was made clear to Jeremiah and the knowledge of that purpose made him to stand out in his world.



Please,"take note of the following points":

a) The way of purpose is the way of destiny distinction.

Anyone who knows his purpose and follows that purpose can never end as a destitute in life (Daniel 1:8).



b) To follow the way of purpose is to end in the place of prominence (Proverbs 22:29). A man who is diligent in his business and life’s assignment shall stand before great men. He shall not stand before ordinary people.



c) Life’s assignment is key to life’s enhancement and uplifting.

The assignment of your life is what will produce the enhancement and uplifting for your life. This was seen in the life of Joseph in Genesis 41:36-44.

My counsel is,"ask God to clearly reveal to you the purpose of your life (Habakkuk 2":1). And pursue your life’s purpose with everything you have got (Habakkuk 2:2-3).

REMEMBER THIS: To be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Ask God at the place of prayer to reveal your purpose for living to you.

2. If you have discovered your purpose,"go ahead and fulfil it on time.
