TOPIC: THE PROCESS OF BECOMING LIKE CHRIST
⚓Scripture: Galatians 4: 19. My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation of what we started yesterday on the process of becoming like Christ in character. We did established that, God desires every believer to be transformed because that is what gives him glory(John 15:8). Your transformation is a journey into becoming like Christ! And when you become like Christ you can then bear fruit that is termed christ-like character - a life that gives glory to God and this is God's desire for you. We went further into process that leads to a transformed life. Today, we shall continue to discuss the process that culminate into a transformed life.

*What are the process of becoming like Christ in character?*
Our becoming like Christ is a transformation journey that begins with an encounter with the word that leads to a decision for a new birth. After being born again we now enrol into the school of the spirit, continues with our cooperation with the Holy Spirit and the sent word from a sent man of God into our lives.

*It takes the following steps:*
I. Recieving God's servant: These are human instruments God has chosen to mould our lives by passing across his word to us through them. The man you did not received as God's gift to your life, you will not be blessed by that man's ministry. So we received the man that often brings us God's word in partnership with the Holy Spirit and his labour over us in prayer(Gal. 4:19)

II. Then we recieve the sent word from sent man with an attitude of readiness and meekness. If you are not ready in your mind and you are not meek, you will not receive.

III. Exercing ourselves by accepting the discipline to pray. The power of prayer is essential to becoming like Christ to every believers. Although the sent man of God will labour over us in prayer for our transformation, yet every believer must not neglect the place of personal prayer! To abandoned our role of personal prayer is to sign up for a life of defeat and failure. To neglect our personal prayer is to be stagnated spiritually as a believer in our spiritual growth. If you can not maintain a steady personal prayer, then join group or form alliance with someone that prays so that you can catch the fire of prayer! But to sit down, fold your hands is to become too cold for the devil to prey on.

Our anchor scripture speaks of Christ being formed in you when there are labour of prayers pouring out on your life, but you must not be indifferent. Your prayer life will help you to wad off the arsenal of hell that is constantly being fired against you. The Bible said:
*Ephesians 6: 18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;*

Observed from this scripture the clause prayer and supplication in the Spirit! That is praying in the Holy Ghost! Praying in the Spirit will help your overall growth:
*Jude 1: 20. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,*

So if you are born again but has no business with the Holy Spirit, you will not be able to enjoy this dimension of prayer.

Jesus went to the mountain to pray and He was transfigured meaning He was transformed;
*Luke 9: 29. And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.*

You will notice the clause "as He prayed, His countenance was altered" meaning there was a transformation that begins to happen! In the same vein, when believer prays something begins to alter about their spiritual configuration. The alteration that takes place in the spirit is able to alter your whole life because life is spiritual and it is the spiritual that controls the physical. What we see as a physical reality is an outcome of what happened spiritually. If a man can control his spiritual atmosphere, certainly he can control his physical atmosphere. Our growth in life is a function of our growth in the spirit.

Beloved, do you desire a transformed life, you want Christ to be formed in you? Then engage in personal prayer! Don't wait for others to pray for you, do it yourself. As you begin to pray there are habit that will die, there are life style that will give way and gradually a new you will begin to emerge.

IV. Yielding to the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the midwife between who you are now and the transformed you. He is going to use the sent word into your life to bring you a level of conviction(Jn.16:8-10) that produces a better version of you. So our maximum cooperation with the Holy Spirit matters in the entire process. He is our guide, our teacher, teaching us the mind of Christ (Jn.16:11-16) concerning our destiny.

Beloved, my counsel to you is this; Don't explain away your error/misconduct or sinful lifestyle that the Holy Spirit is pointing out to you, don't shift the blame, accept responsibility, do the needful and repent.

TOPIC: BECOMING LIKE CHRIST IS GOD'S DELIGHT FOR BELIEVERS
⚓Scripture: Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation with our subject on victory over the flesh; we have been emphasising the need for us to be transformed believers. It is worthy of note that the eternal God also desire us to be transformed with the intention that we might be like his son Jesus Christ. Our focus today is to establish that God delight in our transformation and then outline how we can become what God desires us to be

*Why is God delighted in our transformation?*
Our anchor scripture reveals why God is delighted in our transformation:
*Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.*

Observed the clause "to be conformed to the image of His son"! This is God's of subjecting us to training. God is delighted in our becoming like Christ. In another passage, the Bible refers to it as Christ being formed in you:
*Galatians 4: 19. My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you*

Beloved this is the overall goal of God sending us His servants to shape us into the image of His son Jesus. God wants to see Christlike character being formed in us. He wants your life to mirror the life of Christ. And the process of achieving it is called discipleship that's why in Antioch, the disciples exhibited this christ-like character that they were called Christian (Acts 11:26)!

Beloved, you can see that God is more happier when our lives is transformed to be like Christ than when we remain in carnality and exhibit devilish character. Say no to the works of the flesh and carnality! Take your transformation serious because God is happier with your transformed life than remaining a baby Christian, carnal and sense rule.

*If God delight in our transformation, why are many believers not transformed?*
Well, the reason why many believers are not transformed is unwillingness to submit to the process of transformation. The matter of transformation or Christ formation in our lives is subject to our willingness to submit ourselves to the process of transformation. Jesus said:
*Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.*

God has given us His servants, He has also given us His word , He has given us the prayer language and then His Holy Spirit. It is our willingness to cooperate with His servant, His word, accept prayer discipline and cooperate with His Holy Spirit that determine how fast Christ is formed in us.

*What are the process of becoming like Christ?*
The process of becoming like Christ or Christ like formation entails the following:
I. Recieving God's servant: God uses human instruments known as God's servants to shape us into the image of His son Jesus Christ. So we must recieve them as a gift to us. The Bible said;
*Ephesians 4: 11. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:*

Observed the clause "unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:'! So the desire of God is that we come into the fullness of Christ! That is why the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastors and teachers are sent into your life. They are sent to perform two assignments :
A. Partnering with the Holy Spirit in bringing you the word of God. (Jer.3:15)
B. Labouring over you in prayer until Christ is formed in you.(Gal. 4:19)

Therefore, your primary assignments is to locate the man God has sent into your life, receive him, believe him, honour him and cooperate with him! Then your life will practically turn like a night turns to day.

II. Recieving the revealed word and the sent word: The word of God is the conveyor of the power of God! Recieving the sent word from a sent man into your life is programming your life into Success and victory. Besides the sent word is the revealed word that God personally revealed to you, you must recieve both of them. The unfortunate thing is that many are not ready to receive the word. If the word must be recieved, there is an attitude we must put on, which are:
A. An attitude of readiness:
*Acts 17: 11. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.*

B. An attitude of meekness must be be put on to receive the word that can change your life:
*James 1: 21. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.*

Please note that transformation begins from the mind and then reflect on the entire life of a man. So when the word is sent and received, it mandate you to do what the word talks about and then it changes our idealogy and ways of thinking! This is how men grow in the kingdom. And then the process continues again and again until you become like Christ.

TOPIC: REASONS WHY YOU NEED TRANSFORMATION AS A CHRISTIAN (PART 2)
⚓Scripture : 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation of what we started yesterday on the need why we need transformation as a Christian! Today, we shall continue stating the reasons why we need transformation as a Christian.

*Why do you need transformation as a Christian?*
I. You need transformation to enjoy Victory over the Flesh

II. You need transformation to gain victory over Lust

III. You need transformation to gain permanent deliverance from every forms of demonic infestation
(For more details, check yesterday's meditation)

IV. You need transformation because your spirituality depends on your degree of transformation. Please understand that we have three classes of people:
A. The natural man (1Cor.2:14): This is a man that is not born again, He hasn't received Christ as his Lord and personnal Saviour Christ and as such no life of God.
B. The carnal man (1Cor.3:1-3): This is a born again believer without transformation and as such he is helplessly subject to dictates of the sense realm
C. The spiritual man (1Cor.2:15): This is a believer that is born again and has been transformed by the word of God. Therfore you need transformation to graduate from being a carnal believer to a spiritual believer. And how spiritual you become is a function of the rate of submission to the word of God and the Holy Spirit.

V. You need transformation because it delivers from stronghold (2 Cor. 10: 4-5): There are so many persons who have stronghold in their minds, it takes transformation to be delivered. A stronghold is an idealogy or a belief system that is enforce by the devil! When a man is under a stronghold the demons responsible for the stronghold often made their victims unable to receive and accept the truth of the word of God but make them to believe a lie and live a life of falsehood! For such people to receive salvation, the stronghold must be broken by the power of God; (*2 Cor. 10: 4.)*

VI. You need transformation so that you are not a tool in the hands of the devil: The devil is always looking for an individual he can partner with and use as a tool to accomplish his mission on earth. If you are born again and refuse to be transformed, you are pre-dispose to be a tool in the hands of the devil who is always looking for a soft landing. (John 14: 30)

Your transformation made it impossible for the prince of this world(devil) to find something incriminating in you.

*How to contend for your transformation?*
I. Submission to the governing authority of the word (Rom.12:1-3, 2 Cor. 3:18). If you don't submit to the authority of the word, you can not be transformed.
The word of God must be the philosophy that shaped your thoughts and your decisions for life not customs and traditions. You must constantly feed on the word. The Bible said:
*2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.*

From the above scripture, you will agree with me that you are only change to what you behold! So, as you behold or look constantly into the word, you are changed.
Then develop a healthy character of meekness, don't assume you have known it. Then mix it with faith both in the sent word and the revealed word to you. And be ready to submit to human instruments God will be using to shape your life by bringing the word of God to you on regular basis.

II. Submission to the Holy Spirit. (Gal. 5: 16,25). You must yeild yourself to the Holy Spirit for pruning that is termed walk in the Spirit.

Beloved, if you must rise as a believer transformation is non negotiable! You must submit your self to the word of God and the Holy Spirit just like oil and the wax that is necessary for a candle to function so also is your transformation required the word and the Holy Spirit.

TOPIC: REASONS WHY YOU NEED TRANSFORMATION AS A CHRISTIAN
⚓Scripture : Matthew 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! The matter of transformation is a serious issue that some have made a shipwreck of their faith because of negligence of it either because of lack of unwillingness to be transformed or lack understanding of the need to pursue transformation! Hence for today, we shall be stating the reasons why we need transformation as a Christian.

*Why you need transformation as a Christian?*
I. You need transformation to gain Victory over the Flesh which is the greatest enemy to our Christian walk! The flesh is the chief sponsor of carnality, selfishness and sefl-centeredness: a. Carnality is to live and act according to the dictate of the flesh.
b. Selfishness the excessive concern for one's own welfare, interests, or pleasure, often with a disregard for the needs and feelings of others.
c. Self-centeredness is excessive preoccupation with one’s own needs, desires, and thoughts, often ignoring the perspectives or feelings of others.

All the three of them is determined by the state of mind of the individual. When your mind is purged with the word of God, then selfishness, Self-centeredness is also flush out. This is why the way out of carnality is transformation with the agency of the word of God. Carnality, selfishness and self-centeredness put aside the Holy Spirit and allow the flesh to dictates the actions of the individual. If you are carnal, you will certainly be willing to fight, cheat, lied, boil with anger over a little matter etc! There are believers who are saints in church but outside the church, they are like a small devil. They are ready to fight at the slightest provocation. The way out of such carnality is a transformed life.
(Romans 8: 6-8).

If you find it difficult to please God and easy to pick up a quarrel with your neighbour! The diagnosis is that flesh is in operation and it will take transformation to put a stop to such character. Amongst spouses, it is easy to stop cheating, selfishness and other carnality when you get transformed with the word of God.

II. You need transformation to gain victory over Lust; whether it is lust after the opposite s*x, lust for money, lust for food, lust for power, lust of the eyes,lust of the flesh or pride of life, transformation gives you complete victory over all forms of lust. It is lust of the flesh that fuels ma********on! The devil employed your carnality to put you in bo***ges. So you see people suffering from one form of addiction or the other because the devil employed their lust to keep them in bo***ge. Today, I declare your liberty from that satanic addiction in the name of Jesus.

III. You need transformation to gain permanent deliverance from every forms of demonic infestation; It will amaze you to know that the easiest way to get back demons into your life after you have been delivered is to refuse to be transformed. When the devil is forcefully evicted from your life he goes out and after a while he returns to check if you are still the way he left your life and if he discovered you are not transformed he returns with other seven more wicked demons(Matt.12:43-46). This explains why some person are undergoing endless deliverance. Your deliverance can be permanent if you accept the path of a transformed life. There are those who makes it look like God'spower is limited to handle the challenges of their lives. They are born again but struggling with bitterness, envy, fornication, adultery, anger etc(Gal.5:19)! The reason for such struggling with secret sin is refusal to get a transformed life. Listen to me child of God, you can not be delivered from demonic activities and remain empty, dry , without transformation because the devil will finds his way back into your life(Matt.12:43-46).

It will interest you to know that the devil often operate through our minds! There are those who are on endless deliverance because they fail to approach the problem from foundation. The foundation of most of our spiritual battles is tied to our mindset which is a believe system. So, curses is a believe system, failure is a believe system, poverty is a believe system etc. Once the devil could see this negative believe system, he ensured he bring it to pass. The way out is ensure your mind transformed with the light of the word of God sufficiently and you will no longer be victim of satanic yokes, failure or oppression once the spirit is ejected out of your life.

TOPIC: STEPS TO A TRANSFORMED LIFE
⚓Scripture: Romans 12: 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! In continuation of what we started previously on victory over the flesh, we did established that it begins by revelational knowledge of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, then deliberate pursuit of a transformed life ! Today, we shall be looking at steps to a transformed life.

Please understand that in pursuit of a transformed life, we must understand that there are things God will not do for a man because He has given us to will to make choices for ourselves. That's why as a matter of fact I can choose to obey God or disobey Him and God will respect my will. So, God will make provision available to us and then leave us with our will to choose (Deut. 30:19). For example God will not come to compelled a man to listen to His word, neither will He force you to listen to the teacher/pastor that He has given you. He had already promised you:
*Jeremiah 3: 15. And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.*

So, if God play His part by giving you a pastor, then we need to play our part; and that is be present in the service/ location where you can access the word of God and then open your heart to learning! Physical presence is not enough, there must be opening of your heart to receive. Don't assume you have known a particular truth of the scripture until it can produce evidence in your life! The knowledge is not in quoting the scriptures but in life application! So, keep exposing your spirit to words that is capable of transforming your lives and it will shock you the rate at which your life will be a wonder to behold. It is quite unfortunate that most believers don't care what sought of words they listen to! It is not every word that can transformed you positively, only the truth of the scripture can do that! To some of us, our phone is full of music that promote the flesh and not for spiritual edification. No wonder you see nudity and carnality everywhere! Listen to me child of God, if you don't take the matter of your transformation serious, your life will continue to attract all sought of demons and demonic attacks. This is why the Bible said:
*Romans 8: 6. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace* .

We said previously, that transformation begins with the mind! How transformed your mind is determined by how transformed your life becomes. Hence we have broken transformation into steps,

*What are the steps to a transformed life?*
I. Being born again
II. Deliberate yielding of your self to God by submitting to the instruments God choose to use to shape your life.
(For more details check yesterday's meditation)

III. Renewing of your mind:
*Romans 12: 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.*

Observe that the action of renewing is a present continuous tense and as such it is a continuous exercise!

*What are the steps to renewing your mind?*
You renew your mind by;
A. Recieving the word of God with meekness;
*James 1: 21. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.*

Until the word is received, It will not profit you. So to get profit from the word receive the word with meekness and faith.

B. Mixed the word with faith and allow it to be authority over your life.
*Hebrews 4: 2. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.*

Many have been hearing the word of God for so many years now but it has not profit them because the word received was not mixed with faith.

C. Submit to the authority of the word of God. If you can take the word as your final abitter! The final authority from which you base your judgement and Philosophy of life. You have come to accept the word as the last resort to every challenges of life, then you have position yourself to get maximum profit from the word.

D. Do what the word says because the word is able to perform what it talks about.

IV. Meditating on the word of God (Josh.1:8): Besides deliberate steps in renewing your mind is determination to meditate on the word of God.

V. Constant looking into the scripture and Doing the word of God (Jam.1:25)

Beloved, As you yield yourself to God as an act of absolute surrender, the Holy Spirit supplies grace that enable you to overcome those sinful appetite! Carnality, selfishness and self-centeredness gives way to Spirit led life. Part of your yielding process is termed walk in the Spirit:
*Galatians 5: 16. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulful the lust of the flesh.*

Walking in the Spirit entails constant yielding to the word of God, surrendering to the Holy Spirit teaching and instructions. Constant listening and doing the word. Meditation and prayers as well.

*Remember this* : Heaven is real and hell is real! The visas to heaven is your salvation, get yours today by giving your heart to Jesus and keep it intact.
*Prayer points* :
~ Father thank you for your word to me today.
~ Lord, I received grace for a transformed life in the name of Jesus.
*Prophetic Declaration:*
~ I prophesy upon your life, the works of darkness are over!
~ Your sanctification has just began now, your life shall no longer be a slave to the flesh in the name of Jesus.

*Assignment:* Check your degree of surrender to the word of God. Are there areas you still argue with the scriptures? If yes, turn a new leaf today.

TOPIC: OUR PARTICIPATORY ROLE TO ENJOY VICTORY OVER THE FLESH
⚓Scripture: Romans 12: 2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter. In continuation of our discussion on victory over the flesh, we did established that our victory begins with the revelational knowledge of what happened on the cross which is when Jesus died, we also died with Him! Today, we shall be looking at our our participatory role in enjoying the victory over the flesh.

What is our participatory role?
The victory over the flesh is not automatic. It required a demand from us and that demand is to submit ourselves for transformation! Transformation is our participatory role. For many years I never understand the importance of the teaching ministry until I submitted myself to learn the word of God, that was when my life begin to transformed, habits like anger, bitterness, lust etc suddenly loose their grip over my soul. Ever since then I don't joke with learning the word of God which I have submitted myself to be a student for life! In the school of transformation we don't graduate, we keep learning all through life.

From our anchor scripture (Rom.12:2), we are instructed to be transformed! This implies that your transformation is a personal pursuit! God will not come down from heaven to transform your life! Rather you have to make a deliberate intention to invest into your life by making every effort that gears towards your transformation.

Beloved, it is possible to be in church service for many years and yet not be transformed! How long you have been in church does not guaranteed transformation rather taking deliberate steps that finally leads to a transformed life.

*Where does transformation begins from;*
Transformation begins from the mind which is called mental transformation. This explains why when God wants to transform a man, He begins with his mind! When the mind is transformed, the man is transformed because that is centre of decision making in man.
No matter how free a man may be, if he is not free in his mind, he is not free indeed. Many believers are born again but still in bo***ge in their minds. Until you have a transformed mind, you can not have a transformed life. The mind is the bridge between the soul and the spirit! It can be under the influence of demons or the Holy Spirit. The quality of your life is a function of the quality of your mind. Therefore, you transformed your life by transforming your mind.

*What then is Transformation* :
It is a process by which God process/change an Individuals to become like Christ or conformed to Christ!
Romans 8: 29. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate *to be conformed to the image of his Son* , that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

*How is transformation achieve?*
I. It begins by being born again ! Without the new birth experience, we can not be talking about Transformation. It is like attempting to build a house without a foundation. So the foundation of the journey to transformation is the new birth experience which entails;
a. Acknowledge your sin and the need of a Saviour
b. Believe in your heart the Lord Jesus Christ as the perfect saviour(Rom.10:9)
c. Confess Jesus Christ as your Lord with your mouth(Rom.10:10)
Once you are born again the process begins!

II. By deliberately yielding yourself to God. (Rom.12:1); You yield yourself to God by submitting to any servant of God that God has chosen as His instruments of moulding your life. God has a lot of resource person to shape your life into the image of Christ. To submit to God therefore is to be willing to give yourself to any of those human instruments God is willing to use to shape your life into what He want it to be. The Bible said:
*Jeremiah 3: 15. And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.*

The responsibility of the pastor is to feed you until your life look like Christ. However, our yielding to the instruction and messages of the human instruments(pastor) is what determine our rates of transformation. The irony of it all in the body of Christ is that the teachers/pastor who are anointed to teach the word are always present in the classroom of learning whereas many believers who should be students in the class of transformation are always absent from the class! For example, Moment of Daily Encounter is a class, but not many students are willing to enroll there by following it every day! Some believers even change their teacher because they are not willing to accept the discipline the teacher is bringing to them.

Beloved, if you desire transformation which is your participatory role to enjoy victory over the flesh; then be present in each class, don't jump class, don't change pastor/teacher anyhow, permit God to give you pastor/teacher! Listen to the voice of your teacher, accept instructions, trust God to use him/her to mold you into the image of His son Jesus Christ. Honour him/her and believe what God is saying to you through his/her mouth.

III. You must constantly renew your mind

To be continue tomorrow!

*Remember this:* Heaven is real and hell is real! Whom you serve on earth determine whom you will spend eternity with!

*Prayer points:*
~ Father thank you for your word to me today.
~ Father, I yield myself for your transformation, I desire to be transformed into the image of Christ, so help me Lord in Jesus name.
*Prophetic Declaration:*
~ I Prophesy your time has come for a definite change of story as you yield your life for a transformation in Jesus name.
~ You will not suffer a set back any more in the name of Jesus.

*Assignment:* Check your degree of transformation now. Could it because you are always absent from where God is feeding you from? If yes make a u-turn today.
