~~as Hon. Adekwagh Tivkaa Adex favoured by Zoning

Earlier today the stakeholders, elders and party faithfuls of the people's democratic party (PDP) cut across the two council wards of Mbaawe and Mbaaka that makes up Mbaivende in Ushongo local government, convened a meeting at Lobi Kartyo the headquarters of Mbaawe council ward to look into the controversies surrounding the choice of a certain concensus candidate for the state auditor of PDP.

In his opening remarks, the PDP chairman of Mbaawe council ward explained that they have decided to converned the meeting to critically review the crisis bedevilling the party in the area after a purported choice of a certain candidate for the Post of the state auditor of the party was made and urged the party stakeholders to look into it and find ways of resolving the issue.

Responding an elder of the party, Hon. Julius Shaukpar explained that the issue of the concensus candidate has generated alot of controversies in the area and opined that the two candidates should be allowed to test the ground and who so ever that will be lucky will bring it home.

Contributing on the matter, a former PDP house of Representatives contender for Kwande/Ushongo in the last general election, Hon. Peter Abayol decried the lack of Truth and transparency in the party adding that most sons and daughters of the area are scared of coming home to contribute to the development of the area and governance because of lack of Truth in handling issues.

Hon. Abayol explained that he has carefully enquired about the zoning of the state auditor position in the area and discovered that the Mbajoho of Mbaaka where the position is zoned to has only three clans of Mbajoughul, Mbaatende, and Onmbakuha and going by the sharing formula, the Mbajoughul being the elderst of them all is to enjoy the position first and wondered why any right thinking group will leave the elder that is supposed to benefit first and zoned the position to the younger and appealed to the elders and stakeholders to do the right thing in order to restore the confidence of the people in the party.

In their separate remarks, Hon. Chi-Chi Abayol, Hon. Fabian Nayongo , Hon. Joe Ngiegba, Hon. Agba Mbachilin, among others called on the party in the area to follow a clear template on the choice of a concensus candidate to prevent further crises that will prevent the party in the area from loosing out completely from the election.

After listening to voices of reasons from party members, Elder. Shaukpar Julius apologized for his earlier stands to feature two candidates and withdrew his earlier statement, promising to collaborate with other stakeholders to look into the matter and resolve it amicably.

The party stakeholders resolved that they will reconvene the meeting on another date and ensure that all the two contenders for the position are in attendance to be able to take a definite position that will be satisfactory to both parties.

NEWSBREAKING: Court affirms APC National Chairman, Ganduje’s suspension.
A Kano State High Court has granted an exparte order restraining the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, from parading himself as National Chairman as well as a member of the party, pending the determination of the substituted motion of his suspension.

Consequently, the court ordered that henceforth Ganduje should desist from presiding over affairs of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party.

The application granted by Justice Usman Malam Na’abba on Tuesday follows an exparte motion filed by Dr. Ibrahim Sa’ad on behalf of two executive members of Ganduje’S ward, Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Area; the assistant secretary, Laminu Sani; and legal adviser Haladu Gwanjo (plaintiffs) who were part of the nine ward executive who suspended him two days ago.

The court directed the four parties (respondents) joined in the matter, including the APC NWC, APC Kano State Working Committee (KSWC), and Ganduje, to henceforth, maintain status quo ante belum as of 15th April, 2024, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit on 30th April 2024.

Justice Na’abba also held as prayed that the State Working Committee must not interfere with the legally and validly considered decision of executives of Ganduje ward, essentially on action endorsed by a third majority of the executives as provided by the party constitution.

“An order is hereby granted directing all parties in the suit APC (1st), APC National Working Committee (2nd), Kano State Working Committee APC (3rd), Dr. Abdullah Umar Ganduje (4th), to maintain status quo ante belum as of 15th April, 2024.

The order thereby restraining the 1st respondent (APC) from recognizing the 4th respondent (Ganduje) as member of APC and prohibiting the 4th respondent (Ganduje) from presiding over any affairs of the NWC and restraining the state Working Committee from interfering with the legally and validly decision of the ward executives of Ganduje ward.

“That the 4th respondent (Ganduje) is prohibited from parading himself as a member of APC or doing any act that may portray him or seem to be a member of APC pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.”

It will be recalled that nine members of the Ganduje ward proclaimed the suspension of the National Chairman of APC over the allegation of corruption slammed on him by the Kano State Government.

The nine APC executives said they were prompted to act following a petition written by one Ja’afaru Adamu, a member of APC from the National Chairman’s polling unit.

In the petition, Adamu complained over allegations of corruption against the former Governor just as he urged the ward leaders to investigate the matter to redeem the dented image of the party and the implication on President Bola Tinubu’s fight against corruption.

Although the chairman and secretary of the ward failed to act on the petition filed since 8th April 2024, nine members of the executives led by the legal adviser had acted upon the petition, a decision that led to the suspension of Ganduje.

In the last year, the former Kano State Governor had suffered a serious political setback for losing his Dawakin Tofa federal constituency in the 2023 general elections where his son Umar Abdullahi Ganduje was the APC candidate.

JUST-IN: Benue APC chairman Agada suspended

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ehaje Ward 1 in Owukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State has passed a vote of no confidence on Benue APC chairman Augustine Agada and a ward member of the party with immediate effect.

The ward also suspended the duo after the receipt and consideration of a petition by Comrade Dan Onjeh, the party’s 2023 Senatorial Candidate, alleging Agada committed anti-party activities during the last general elections.

Citing relevant provisions of the APC Constitution, the ward leadership listed seven grounds for the suspension of Agada from the party.

They include: Agada’s failure to appear before the Ward Disciplinary Committee to address the allegations against him despite the ward’s invitation to him to do so; the Ward Exco found compelling evidence of Agada working against the party’s interest in the Benue South Senatorial District during the 2023 elections.

These anti-party activities included: campaigning for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sen. Abba Moro; dampening the morale of APC supporters and encouraging anti-party activities within the ward, and losing his polling unit (Ai-Igado Ehaje 1) in the presidential, senatorial, and House of Representatives elections.

The Ehaje Ward 1 leadership also citied Agada’s alleged withholding of the funds from the APC at the national level provided to the ward for logistics and election day activities.

Agada was also accused of altering the list of APC election agents the party’s Benue South senatorial candidate submitted with the intent of subverting the party at the poll.

The Ehaje Ward 1 leadership further stated that it suspended Agada, “based on the strength and irrefutable facts tendered in the petition with CTC of bank statements tendered and oral evidence given by party members in the ward…”

After a thorough consideration of the allegations against Agada and the evidence proffered to back these charges, the Ward Disciplinary Committee drew its conclusion and submitted its findings and report to the APC Ehaje Ward 1 Expanded Exco.

The expanded Exco further deliberated on the findings and resolved to: (1) pass a vote of no confidence on Agada based on Article 17 sub-sections V and Vi of the party constitution; (2) suspend Agada from the party with immediate effect, pursuant to Article 17 sub-sections V and Vi; (3) urge all relevant party organs to take note of the Ward Exco’s decision and uphold the party constitution, and (4) advised Mr. Agada to cease parading himself as a member of the party or purport to hold the position of Benue State Party Chairman.
