The State Primary Healthcare gency Rallies Stakeholders To Strengthen Immunization And Birth Registration
The Department of Community and Family Health (C&FH) of the Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency has convened a high-level engagement meeting aimed at strengthening immunization and birth registration activities across the state.
The meeting, held at the department’s Annex Conference Hall, brought together state, Local Government Area (LGA), and ward-level stakeholders to enhance coordination and improve child health data management. It was chaired by the Director of Community and Family Health, Dr. Maryam Abubakar.
Moderated by the State Health Educator, Sallau Mohammed Malami, the session had in attendance the 11 Local Government Mobilisation Officers, alongside representatives from the National Population Commission and the Gombe State Ministry of Information and Education.
Discussions centered on deepening advocacy efforts targeted at parents and caregivers, emphasizing the importance of timely birth registration, accurate immunization records, and proper documentation of child health data.
Participants examined strategies for integrating immunization services with birth registration processes to ensure seamless record-keeping and improved service delivery.
Key deliberations also addressed the adoption of digital solutions, intensified community sensitization, and tackling grassroots bottlenecks that hinder registration and immunization compliance. Participants shared field experiences, identified operational challenges, and proposed practical solutions to enhance collaboration at all levels.
In a resounding conclusion, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring all children in Gombe State are registered at birth and fully immunized. They highlighted the importance of accurate data and strong collaboration between agencies to support effective planning, better healthcare outcomes, and the protection of children’s futures.
