Hello Airdrie 🤍
How was your week? I hope you’re keeping warm.

One of my highlights this week was learning more about the Youth Legacy Program, a free initiative supporting youth aged 12 to 29 with communication skills, conflict management, and leadership development.

I’m joined by .chowan to share more. For details, visit .ca.
Investing in our youth is investing in Airdrie’s future.

Calling Biomedical Imaging & Pulmonary Diagnostics Professionals

A Grade 10 student is currently seeking a short term mentor in the field of biomedical imaging, signal processing, or pulmonary diagnostics.

Duration: February to April

This is a meaningful opportunity to guide, inspire, and expose a young mind to real world clinical and diagnostic practice.

If you are experienced in this field and open to mentoring, kindly send a direct message for more details.

Please feel free to share within your network.

Bullying has no place in our schools, workplaces, or community.

On Pink Shirt Day, we stand together in choosing kindness, accountability, and courage. Creating safe neighbourhoods means creating spaces where every child, every family, and every voice feels respected and protected.

Let’s lead with empathy. Let’s model inclusion. Let’s build a community where dignity is non-negotiable.

Airdrie’s Social Needs Assessment — What we heard about mental health

As part of our 2025 Social Needs Assessment, residents shared their experiences in surveys, open houses, coffee chats, youth and senior sessions, and focus groups with equity deserving communities. Your input helps us understand what supports Airdronians rely on—and where gaps still exist.

One message stood out clearly: mental health matters.

Residents described Airdrie as a place built on compassion and belonging, but many also expressed growing concerns about accessing mental health supports when they need them.

What we heard included:
🔹Long wait times for services
🔹Limited availability of affordable supports
🔹Transportation and cost barriers
🔹Increased stress from financial pressures, caregiving responsibilities, and rapid community growth

Your voices are shaping the next steps in improving local mental health supports. Did you know that Airdrie Family and Community Support Services (Airdrie FCSS) funds a variety of preventive social programs, including those that support mental health?

Hello Airdrie 🤍
How was your week? I hope it was a good one.

At this week’s Council meeting, we reviewed updates on Yankee Valley Estates, land development patterns presented by the University of Calgary, and a new tool being developed to better track growth and manage urban expansion.

If you can’t attend meetings, you can always watch the recordings or read the minutes online.

Thank you to Mehak .1104 and all residents who continue to stay engaged. Your voice truly matters.
