Clerked her and took her vital signs

Sterilized the cups and we begun 💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾

She prefers the size 15🤩, her session made me perfect the usage, I'm so used to size 11.

She said it's not even painful, she was laughing as it was ticklish and complained of itching (ọgbẹni, toxins nìyẹn, calm down)😂. Massage? She was just laughing and wrinkling 😂- ticklish sensation.

She was cupped for lower back ache, thigh and arm ache.

Told her what to avoid eating for the next few days, next I heard was "ẹyin nkọ"- foodie😂.

Cupping therapy is an alternative medicine that involves the placement of special instruments known as cups on the surface of the body to let out toxins which when accumulated lead to different ailments and sickness.

There are different types of cupping therapy
Dry
Wet
Fire
Moving
Etc

The wet type of cupping is what is known as Hijaamah in Arabic which has the root word from "حجم" which means to suck. Basically, wet cupping involves sucking out the toxins from the sites/body surface.

How does cupping therapy work?
Principles of action
The principles of action of cupping therapy involve:

1. Suction: Creating a vacuum that increases blood flow, reduces muscle tension, and stimulates healing.
2. Increased Blood Flow: Enhanced circulation brings oxygen and nutrients to affected areas.
3. Release of Toxins: Suction helps remove metabolic waste and toxins from tissues.
4. Stimulation of Lymphatic System: Cupping promotes lymphatic drainage, aiding detoxification.
5. Blood Letting (in Wet Cupping/Hijaamah)*: Controlled release of blood to remove impurities and promote healing.

Each colour appearance on the skin when cups are placed denote different interpretations- see last slide.

The blood letting out is done by taking a surgical razor to make scratches on the skin and then use the vacuum method to collect the blood.

This is the most effective method of cupping and is known as the oldest/ most popular method.

In islamic history, cupping therapy has many evidences of being prescribed by the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Some are:

📍 Healing is in three things: A gulp of honey, cupping, and branding with fire. But I forbid my followers to use branding with fire." (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 5681, 5702)
📍 The best medicine with which you treat yourselves is Hijama…" (Al-Bukhari)
📍 If anyone has himself cupped on the 17th, 19th and 21st it will be a remedy for every disease." (Sunan Abi Dawud 3861, Hasan)

In simple terms, Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries (blood vessels) as the heart beats.
There are 3 levels of blood pressure:
Normal
Prehypertension
Hypertension.
