Meeting Mrs. Adenike Ogunlesi, Founder and Chief Responsibility Officer of Ruff n Tumble, at the National MSME Conference 2025 was nothing short of memorable—it marked the fulfillment of a long-standing aspiration nearly 13 years in the making.

Thirteen years ago, Zucchini Outfits was founded by Mrs. Olubunmi Olalekan as a kiddies clothing and development brand. At that time, the most prominent indigenous children’s fashion production and retail brand was Ruff n Tumble. Naturally, as a new entrant focused on children’s fashion products crafted from African textiles, Zucchini Outfits looked to Ruff n Tumble as a benchmark, and Mrs. Ogunlesi herself became a role model from afar.

So you can imagine the excitement when Mrs. Olalekan finally encountered, face-to-face, the very person she had admired for over a decade—right there on the conference floor. For us, this was more than a chance meeting; it was a moment of realignment, a reminder to bring to the fore our first love—children—and to continue using fashion not only to clothe them but also to contribute to their development and empowerment.

This encounter with Mrs. Ogunlesi was a powerful affirmation of our journey and a renewed commitment to the vision that inspired Zucchini Outfits from the very beginning.
