This is another of those - "Phew! That took a while" papers. We report the development, reproducibility, and validation of Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and Food Picture Book (FPB) for Nigerian adults. These tools would be useful for anyone interested in conducting research on associations between eating Nigerian foods and specific diseases*, e.g. is long term consumption of ogbonor soup linked with erectile dysfunction, or is long term consumption of Nigerian palm oil soup linked with sudden cardiac deaths. You can find the paper here https://cdn.nutrition.org/article/S2475-2991(24)00069-6/fulltext Copyright access will be through the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. Congratulations to everyone involved. Fogarty International Center Center for Bioethics and Research National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Teaser text. We developed, reproduced, and validated FFQ and FPB. We highlight the need to account for portion sizes and seasonality in nutrition epidemiology studies in Nigeria.
