A 48-year-old man was rushed to ChygorCole Specialist Hospital after a brutal motorcycle (okada) accident left him with a closed proximal tibia fracture — the upper part of his leg bone was shattered.

Within hours of presentation, our expert orthopedic team swung into action.
He underwent ORIF (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation) using double locked T-plates and screws, all done under C-arm image intensifier guidance for accuracy and optimal alignment.

🔍 Case Highlight: A 27-year-old female was involved in a road traffic accident and sustained a closed left femoral shaft fracture.

She underwent ORIF with plate and screws in January 2025. Unfortunately, she began bearing weight prematurely—just 2 months post-op—before adequate callus formation. This led to implant failure due to bending.

💡Reminder: Healing takes time. Always follow medical advice and allow the bone to fully heal before bearing weight.

A 40-year-old woman sustained a closed fracture of the left femur and was mismanaged by a traditional bone setter (TBS) for 9 months before presenting to us.

🔹 Slide 1: After the fracture – The initial injury, left untreated and worsened by unprofessional handling.
🔹 Slide 2: Upon presentation – She arrived at CHYGORCOLE Specialist Hospital with severe pain, deformity, and inability to walk.
🔹 Slide 3: After ORIF surgery – She underwent Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) with a distal femoral locked plate and screws, plus bone grafting, all done within 24 hours of presentation.

She was discharged one week later on a walking frame, with instructions for non-weight bearing on the affected leg. Her recovery continues with proper follow-up and rehabilitation.
