Let’s talk about something that stings a little…

Your children are learning about relationships long before they ever get into one. And guess who their first teachers are? You and your partner.

The words you use with each other...
The way you resolve conflict (or don’t)...
The kindness (or coldness) that fills your home...
It’s all a silent lecture they’re attending every day.

Your son? He’s watching how you speak to your spouse and that becomes his script.
Your daughter? She’s watching what is tolerated and normalized and that becomes her standard.

We often pray that our kids grow up to choose love, to be respectful, to never settle.
But the uncomfortable question is:
Are you showing them what that actually looks like?

You can’t preach respect and scream over each other.
You can’t demand kindness while modeling contempt.You can’t expect better outcomes when their first exposure is dysfunction disguised as “normal.”

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being aware.
Even when you think they’re not listening... they are.
Even when you whisper behind closed doors...they feel it.

So if you want them to love well and choose well...
Show them well.

Let the legacy of love you leave be one worth imitating.
