 HAPPY DEMOCRACY DAY
This is the fourth time the federal government of Nigeria has declared June 12 a public holiday to mark the Democracy Day celebration. And it makes more sense at a time when one of our own, in person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the executive President of Nigeria.
For me as a Nigerian, though in diaspora, it is a day of personal reflection. God does not back out on whoever He promised to backup. It is joy to me seeing the sacrifices of our patriots paid off.
It is our turn to make good history, my fellow people of Akoko North East Local Government! A better Akoko for all is in your hands! I always say that to say our choice in the coming Local Government chairmanship matters alot if Akoko must experience her exodus from the agelong shackles of backwardness, poverty and insecurity.
A vote for me as the executive Chairman is a vote for peace and prosperity, unity and youth inclusiveness, development and democratic dividends, and progress with productivity. Take Ikare for instance, many are quick to blame our lack of development on the existing toxic environment in the land. But is it true there is nothing our leaders at the local government level can do to the incessant crisis rocking the ancient town?
We don't necessarily need a regular politician to get it politically correct. Things cannot and must continue as it is. Akoko North East Local Government Area deserves a leader who will ensure that we remain one united, secured, peaceful and an indivisible entity who will appreciate each other, understand each other, honour each other and live together in peace for the good of all.
I covet your prayers and support as I embark on this journey. In the coming days, our government shall walk on the smart typiod of:
Social welfare and sustainability,
Educational revolution and human capacity building,
Agricultural and entrepreneurship development.
Once again, happy Democracy Day.
Signed:
Prince Oluyinka James Olatunde,
