World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2025

Theme: “Ensuring Safe and Healthy Working Environments is a Fundamental Principle and Right at Work”

Hosting yesterday’s special edition of our program on Creating a Safety-First Workplace Culture was both energizing and enlightening. It reinforced my belief that safety is not merely a compliance issue—it is a shared value, a leadership priority, and above all, a right that must be upheld in every workspace.

Our guest, Omolara Dominga Odebunmi, delivered a masterclass in what it truly means to embed safety into the DNA of an organization. From her pioneering role at the Lagos State Safety Commission to launching Nigeria’s first digital safety solution, PADDIE—Your Safety Buddy, her insights were rich, practical, and deeply inspiring.

* Safety must be intentional—from onboarding and leadership behavior to communication and daily practices.
