A Hidden Battle in Pregnancy: Understanding Preeclampsia

She walked into the antenatal clinic that morning expecting a normal check-up…

What Is Preeclampsia?

It’s more than high BP it’s a serious condition after 20 weeks where the mother’s organs begin to struggle and the placenta receives less blood.

Normal Delivery is Beautiful. Safe Delivery is Greater"

‎Just recently, we came across a patient in the facility who insisted on having a vaginal delivery—even after she was told it wouldn’t be safe for her. Certain complications had been discovered, and a caesarean section was strongly recommended.
‎
‎But she was hesitant. She wanted to hold on to the idea of a “natural delivery.”
‎We respected that. So we monitored her, gave injections, performed vaginal examinations, and hoped for progress.
‎Hours passed. Still, labour wasn’t advancing. Eventually, she consented to a C-section.
‎
‎And when the baby finally came out and let out that first loud cry, her heart lifted. Her joy was overwhelming.
‎She was safe. The baby was safe.
‎That’s what truly matters.
‎
‎This experience reminded us again—a caesarean section is not about money; it’s about saving lives.

‎Too often, people question the recommendation for a C-section. Some say it’s a tactic to generate revenue. Others see it as a sign of weakness or failure. But this mindset is dangerous.

‎C-sections are medical interventions done to preserve life—not take anything away from the beauty of birth.

‎Here are some legitimate medical reasons a caesarean might be necessary:

‎🔹 Abnormal baby position (breech or transverse)
‎🔹 Small maternal pelvis
‎🔹 Fetal distress (e.g. abnormal heart rate)

‎🔹 Previous complicated C-section
