SCHOOL OF LIFE: DON'T BE TOO GOOD

ECCLESIASTES 7:16
Be careful that you do not kill yourself. That might happen if you try to be too good or too wise. (EEV)

MEDITATION
Be good to people but don't be over good. Keep everyone at the same level they keep you. No matter what you do for the wicked, an ingrate and a fool, they will never see it because of their perversed heart, misplaced priority and lack of understanding of goodness and kindness.
If you don't define the terms and reference of every relationship you are into, you will be defiled, devalued, used and abused as a slave or fool. Give unto everyone respect, attention, love, commitment and sacrifice in the same proportion they give unto you.
Relationship is a choice not coerced. Never forced a relationship, don't die where your sacrifice will not be appreciated, and don't be in a relationship out of emotion, pity or sentiments. Lies, violence, injustice and abused in relationship is wickedness to avoid and not trial to endure nor temptation to overcome.
Don't waste your investment where your interest is not celebrated, Give unto everyone as they give unto you. The world is now a jungle and life is a warfare. Be as wise as a serpent. Don't allow anyone take advantage of you. Be good not foolish.

AFFIRMATION
I fall where I will be picked not where I will be trashed.

SCHOOL OF LIFE: DISAPPOINTMENT

ECCLESIASTES 3:11
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

MEDITATION
In the school of life, there are things to learn, enjoy, endure, despise and overcome. Disappointment is one the lessons to learn and endure. Disappointment means to failure to meet expectations or hope.
There are three things in disappointment; first because the disappointment is not what, when and how we wanted it does not make it useless. All things work together for good. Secondly the person we are looking up to is also in need. He might be willing to help but helpless and handicapped. And thirdly God supplies need not wants or lust or greed. We should not asked amiss.
Wisdom demand we should not be offended in disappointment neither look down on God's promises. Disappointment does not mean God is not working; but rather it means we are not seeing what God is doing. It is not always God says yes and now; He also says wait, tomorrow and no. The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men.
Whatever and however things are, be joyful in hope, strong and patient in faith. Hope maketh not ashamed and our expectations shall not be cut off. God is good and faithful.

AFFIRMATION
Whatever and however things are, my God is good and faithful.

PRAYERS
Father, endue me with joy and patience to wait on you in Jesus name

SCHOOL OF LIFE: HAPPINESS VS JOY

HABAKKUK 3:17
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 3:18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

MEDITATION
Happiness is when we are excited because of a favourable disposition but joy is when we are excited because we know God cannot lie. Happiness is motivational while joy is intentional.
If we continue to wait for someone or something to push and start us before we get excited, we will soon expire. The world will not get better neither will the hearts of men but it shall be well with the righteous and in all these things, we shall continue to be more than conquerors. Don't allow the devil to corrupt or steal your joy nor allow circumstances to determine your disposition.
Joy is not the absence of trials and temptations but the power to endure trial and overcome temptations. The joy of the Lord is our strength.
When we know these things and do them, Jesus said "happy are we"
Rejoice in the Lord again I say rejoice.
April is full of joy.

AFFIRMATION
I am joy powered. I triumph over trials and temptations.

SCHOOL OF LIFE: BETRAYAL

JOHN 2:24 - 25
But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, 2:25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

MEDITATION
"We are as sheep in the midst of wolves" Jesus admonished; "be as wise as serpent and harmless as dove" he further instructed. Because we turn deaf ear to this instruction, we suffer disappointment in the hands of men mostly from those we trust.
David confessed that a man's enemies are his close associates. Be careful who you share your secrets with or when he or she finds another master or even your enemy that pays higher, he will use your secrets to buy favour.
Betrayal is turning against your close confidant and delivering him to his enemies for selfish gain. We fall into betrayal trap because we confused love with trust. It's not every thing you must tell everybody about yourself. Judas was able to betray Jesus because John 18:2 says "And Judas also, which BETRAYED HIM, KNEW THE PLACE: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples."
Jesus was betrayed so we won't be betrayed. Don't give yourself too much to all men neither expect too much from all men so that you won't be disappointed. Love all men, trust God. Mind the people you give yourself to.

AFFIRMATION
I love all people but I mind the people I give myself to.

PRAYERS
Father, endue me with the spirit of discernment and wisdom to know what I ought to do at all times in Jesus name

SCHOOL OF LIFE: BITTERNESS

HEBREWS 12:15
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

MEDITATION.
Bitterness is going to prison for another person's offense. It's living in a prolonged emotional torment and pains because of unforgiveness, envy or jealousy.
When offence matures, it gives birth to anger and when anger over stays, it results in the sin of bitterness. It's toxic and acidic and has negative effects on both our health and spiritual life. Scriptures says a broken spirit dries the bone.
The bad thing about bitterness is that the person we are bitter with is happy and free and we are in self afflicted bo***ge and torment because of unforgiveness.
Be loving, tolerant and forgiven. Don't give room to bitterness to trouble you.

AFFIRMATION
I sanitize my heart. I don't allow bitterness to take root and grow.

*PRAYERS*
Father help me to tolerate and love one another in Jesus name.

PROVERBS 4:23
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

MEDITATION.
Strength and courage are not bought in the market. They are generated by the entrance words and actions from our environment into our mind.
Fear is the power of the devil to control the world through unhealthy exposure and addiction. Don't say it doesn't matter or you will soon become a matter. Keep your heart with all diligent is an instruction not a suggestion. We must be sensitive to mental pollution and corruption to safe guard our heart.
Your sense diet determines your mental health. Be conscious of what you expose your mind to.

*AFFIRMATION*
I full of strength and courage. I eat the word of God

*PRAYERS*
Set a guard over my heart oh Lord and guide me in thy truth in Jesus name.

SCHOOL OF LIFE: JEALOUSY

GALATIANS 5.19 -20
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions (NIV)

MEDITATION
Jealousy mean I have and I don't want you to have. It's when we become intolerant of others we suspect as rivals. The problem with jealousy is not the action but the assumption. It's possible to be sincerely wrong in most case of jealousy. What we suspect and antagonized might not be true,
Jealousy is not borne out of love but feeling of exclusive ownership and right over something. It's not a sin but it can lead to sin. It's a very dangerous cage to be imprisoned in. God can be jealous because He's righteous and all knowing but we are not so must control our emotions.
Love worketh no evil to his neighbour. Love of Christ constraints us. We must not be quick to judge and suspect. We should be tolerance of others and seek deeper understanding of issues before we draw conclusion. Nothing is wrong with jealousy when the issues are true but every thing wrong with jealousy when the issue is based on mere assumptions.
Be guidance of your possession but be wise, tolerance and sensitive.

AFFIRMATION
I don't jump to conclusions. I tolerate and seek deeper understanding.

Father, baptise me with the spirit of love, patience and discernment in Jesus name

SCHOOL OF LIFE: COMPANY 1

PROVERBS 13:20
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

MEDITATION
Mind the people you allow into the circle of your life. It's not everybody that you should give a seat in your life. Some should just visit and leave.
Define every association and guard it's gates vigilantly and diligently. Defines the boundaries and terms of who is a friend, colleague, mate and relations. Never assume a company.
People we associate with are meant to be sharpeners not erasers. Never accept a company out of pity or sentiment. Nobody and nothing leaves you the same.
Life is too short to waste around stupid people and things. Being vigilant with people you allow into your life is wisdom not pride.
Be wise in choosing your company.

AFFIRMATION
I don't want to be fool. I mind my company.

PRAYERS
Father give me discernment and courage to say to select my company wisely in Jesus name.

*MEDITATION
Show me your company and I will know what accompanies you Company should be define by purpose not be sentiment or pleasure. Our company is not only our friends but everything that contributes to our mental, social, spiritual and physical growth and fine tune our behavioral pattern. Everything that routinely feeds our senses and spirit are our friends.
The purpose of company should be to push somebody up or the person or thing is pushing you up. Unprofitable and toxic association should be avoided.
Whether you know it or not, you will soon be like who or what you have been following. Face answers to face. If you don't select them like beans, your life will be filled with trash.
Be wise in your association.

*AFFIRMATION*
I am very important person. I associate with people and things of virtue and value

PROVERBS 14:30
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

MEDITATION
Envy is allowing foolishness replace your self confidence with inferiority complex. It also means I don't have and am not happy about another person's progress.
Life is a race with purpose not with other men. The moment we loose sight of purpose, we start seeing people. When we loose self confidence, we start hating others progress.
When we are happy about another person's progress, we receive strength to progress also. Only foolish people pull others down or march on others on their way up.
Flee envy, focus pursue purpose, push others up as you are going up and believe God. The same God that made that person will make you too.

AFFIRMATION
I resist bitterness. I push others up.

PRAYERS
Father, baptise me with the spirit of love and sound mind in Jesus name

SCHOOL OF LIFE: GREED

JUDE 1:11
Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

MEDITATION
Greed is a selfish and excessive desire for more of something (such as money etc) than is needed. Life desires many things but wisdom and discipline will approach them in order of needs, affordability and importance. God supplies needs not greed.
Greed is the bedrock of corruption and stealing bedeviling our society. We must cut our coats according to our capacity and not according to our size nor status nor our neighbour's standards. It takes just a little more than what we need to fall into the greed trap.
Beware of the greed trap. If we join company of greedy people, if we are not contented with what we have, if we compare ourselves with others, if we don't have a standard in life, if we follow social trend without commensurate financial capacity, and if we lack financial discipline, we will fall into the greed trap.
Discover your purpose and seek to fulfill it with fear of God and discipline. Protect your purpose from the temptations and corruption of illusion, fantasy and environment. Resist the error of Balaam; Be contented.

AFFIRMATION
I am contented. I resist the error of Balaam.

PRAYERS
Father, baptise me with the discipline of contentment in Jesus name

SCHOOL OF LIFE: REVENGE

PROVERBS 19.11
Good sense makes a man restrain his anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression or an offense. (AMP)

MEDITATION
Vengeance is punishment inflicted in retaliation for an injury or offense. It's natural to react to offense in the same spirit and action of the offender but it's wise not to follow all rights in life. Discipline is the ability to show restraint in life. Most times in life we need to stoop low to conquer.
Overlooking an offense is not cowardice and revenge is not strength. Revenge is a negative by product of anger. The purpose of anger is not hatred and revenge but show of displeasure over an offense for the offendee to take corrections and make amends.
Revenge is morally wrong because it's dishonorable and scripturally wrong because vengeance is an exclusive right of God. You cannot touch it and come out clean. "I will leave the Bible aside and deal with you", "small revenge is done on earth here" are unhealthy and dishonorable words that need not be heard among children of God.
"Avenge not yourselves...for vengeance is mine" is an instruction from God not a suggestion from man. Seek a wise and meek spirit. Show restraint and give God his place.

AFFIRMATION
I am an honourable. I overlook offense

PRAYERS
Father, bless me with a meek and wise spirit in Jesus name
