📖 WHY DOES GOD CALL HIMSELF “I AM”? DISCOVER SOMETHING HIDDEN FOR YEARS😲🤔

Let’s take a journey into one of the deepest mysteries ever spoken, one that echoes from a burning bush to the lips of Christ Himself.
🔥 It all began on holy ground...
Moses stood barefoot before the burning bush, trembling, unsure, overwhelmed by divine fire.
“If they ask me who sent me,” Moses said,
“What should I tell them?”
And God answered with words that shook eternity:
“Tell them I AM has sent you.” (Exodus 3:14)
Wait, “I AM”?
Not “I was.”
Not “I will be.”
But I AM.
These two small words hold a divine weight no language can carry.
🔥 Why is this name so powerful?
Because every other being receives life.
But only one is life.
“I AM” is not just a title, it is a revelation. It tells us:
✝️ God has no origin.
He wasn’t created. He wasn’t born. He simply IS.
✝️ God is unchanging.
He doesn’t shift, evolve, or fade.
He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever.
✝️ God is ever-present.
When you cry, “I am hurting”
He says, “I AM your healer.”
When you feel alone, “I am afraid”
He responds, “I AM your defender.”
God meets you in the present, because He is the eternal now.
⚔️ And in Gethsemane...
Centuries later, the eternal voice echoed again, this time from the lips of Jesus.
When soldiers came to arrest Him, Jesus asked:
“Whom are you looking for?”
They replied,
“Jesus of Nazareth.”
He answered: “I AM He.”
And they fell to the ground. (John 18:6)
That was no accident.
He didn’t just identify Himself.
He invoked the divine Name.
The same voice from the bush… now speaking in flesh. And even armed soldiers collapsed under the weight of His glory.
🕊️ And then came the boldest moment...
In John 8:58, standing before the Pharisees, Jesus declared:
“Before Abraham was, I AM.”
They picked up stones to kill Him. Why?
Because He wasn't just using poetry.
He was invoking the sacred Name of God.
He was saying:
“I AM the One who spoke to Moses.
I AM the fire in the bush.
I AM God.”
This wasn’t metaphor.
It was divine identity made flesh.
And they understood exactly what He meant.
🔥 Now look closely at the “I AM” statements of Jesus…
Each one isn’t just a metaphor.
It’s a declaration of who God is spoken by Jesus, the visible face of the invisible God.
Let’s walk through them:
📖 1. “I AM the Bread of Life” (John 6:35)
“Whoever comes to me will never go hungry…”
(I AM = God is the Living Bread)
Jesus is the Manna from Heaven.
He doesn’t just give bread, He is Bread.
God Himself feeds your soul.
📖 2. “I AM the Light of the World” (John 8:12)
“Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness…”
(I AM = God is the Light)
At creation, God said, “Let there be light.”
Jesus says, “That Light? I AM.”
God shines in your darkness.
📖 3. “I AM the Gate for the Sheep” (John 10:9)
“Whoever enters through me will be saved…”
(I AM = God is the Door)
Jesus is the only safe way in.
Not one of many paths, the door to life.
God guards your soul.
📖 4. “I AM the Good Shepherd” (John 10:11)
“The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
(I AM = God is the Shepherd)
Psalm 23 says, “The Lord is my Shepherd.”
Jesus says, “That Shepherd? I AM.”
God doesn’t just lead, He lays down His life for you.
📖 5. “I AM the Resurrection and the Life” (John 11:25) “Whoever believes in me will live, even though he dies.”
(I AM = God is Life itself)
He doesn’t just raise the dead, He is Resurrection.
God holds power over death.
📖 6. “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6)
“No one comes to the Father except through me.”
(I AM = God is the Way, the Truth, the Life)
Jesus doesn’t show the way, He IS the Way.
God is the map, the road, and the destination.
📖 7. “I AM the True Vine” (John 15:1)
“Apart from me, you can do nothing.”
(I AM = God is the Vine)
In the Old Testament, Israel was God’s vineyard.
But Jesus says, “I AM the True Vine.”
God is your source of strength and fruitfulness.
🔍 So why does Jesus say “I AM”?
Because every “I AM” is a window into eternity.
He didn’t just come to teach about God,
He came to reveal God.
He didn’t just show the way, He came to say:
“I AM the Way.”
He didn’t just talk about life,
He declared: “I AM the Life.”
He didn’t just speak truth,
He said: “I AM the Truth.”
🫵What does this mean for you today?
God isn’t stuck in the past.
He isn’t waiting in the future.
He is here.
He is now.
So when you say: “I am tired…”
He answers: “I AM your strength.”
When you whisper: “I am afraid…”
He answers: “I AM your courage.”
When you cry: “I am lost…”
He answers: “I AM the Way.”

When God says “I AM,” He is revealing His very nature:
