Dysentery

Dysentery is a type of gastroenteritis that results in diarrhea with blood. Other symptoms may include fever, abdominal pain, and a feeling of incomplete defecation.

1. Arjuna:
A decoction made of the bark of the herb provides relief from dysentery. This drink can be taken in doses of 15 to 30 grams. The bark has cooling effect. It arrests bleeding. It provides relief from fever.

2. Lemon:
Peel and slice about three lemons. Add about 250ml of water to it and boil for a few minutes. Strain this infusion. This infusion should be taken thrice daily.

3. Castor Oil:
Give little measurements of castor oil as mixture to the patient to minimize straining amid solid discharge. It encourages snappier end of dangerous matter and goes about as an oil and delicate laxative.

4. Pomegranate Rind:
Boil 50 gm of pomegranate skin in 250 ml of milk and lessen it until it turns into one third. Offer this to the patient to drink in three equal dosages.

5. Dry Ginger Powder:
Mix half a teaspoon dry ginger powder in a cup of buttermilk. You need to consume this mixture 3 to 4 times a day.

Back Pain/Backache

Back pain is pain felt in the back. Episodes of back pain may be acute, sub-acute, or chronic depending on the duration. The pain may be characterized as a dull ache, shooting or piercing pain, or a burning sensation. The pain may radiate into the arms and hands as well as the legs or feet, and may include paresthesia (tingling with no apparent cause), weakness or numbness in the legs and arms.

4 large potatoes
2 tablespoons canola oil

1. Icen Pack:
Applying an ice pack to the painful area within 24 hours of an injury.

2. Take a hot bath:
If more than 24 hours have passed since the injury occurred, ice will not help reduce pain or inflammation. So try soaking in a tub of hot water for 20 minutes or more.

3. Get some sleep:
Getting sufficient rest at night is important when your back muscles are strained.

4. Other Remedies:
Put your arm behind your back, swim, lift with your knees bent, ginger root.

Peptic Ulcer

Peptic ulcer disease (PUD), also known as a peptic ulcer or stomach ulcer, is a break in the lining of the stomach, first part of the small intestine, or occasionally the lower esophagus. An ulcer in the stomach is known as a gastric ulcer while that in the first part of the intestines is known as a duodenal ulcer.

1. Fenugreek leaves:
Boil 1 cup of fenugreek leaves and add a pinch of salt to it. Drink this twice a day.

2. Bananas:
Bananas contain antibacterial substance that help slow down the growth of ulcer in the stomach. Hence eat a banana every day after your breakfast.

3. Cabbage raw juice:
Drinking raw cabbage juice is very effective for treating stomach ulcer. Consume fresh cabbage juice daily before your bedtime. This will help strengthen the stomach lining and heal the ulcer.

4. Garlic:
A clove of garlic is highly recommended for stomach ulcer. Eat 2- 3 cloves of garlic a day during your daily meals to ease the inflammation in the stomach.

5. Coconut oil:
Coconut oil has been used widely as a natural ingredient for treating various disturbances in the stomach. It has anti-bacterial property that kills bacteria that cause ulcers.

Whiten Your Teeth

After years of eating acidic and discoloring foods, most people will experience yellowing teeth at some point in their lives. Professional whitening treatments, however, are very expensive. There are several methods you can try to whiten your teeth at home with inexpensive materials.

1. Baking Soda
Mix ¼ teaspoon of baking soda with a little toothpaste. Brush your teeth with this gritty mixture, then rinse with warm water. Use it once or twice a week.

2. Turmeric
Mix 1 teaspoon each of turmeric powder and water. Use it to brush your teeth for 2 to 3 minutes. Repeatedly rinse with water and spit it out until the liquid comes out clear. Do it once daily.

3. Orange Peel
Rub a long strip of orange peel over your teeth for 2 to 3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Do this twice daily until you are satisfied with the results.

4. Apple Cider Vinegar
Give your teeth a nice rub with apple cider vinegar, rinse off thoroughly and repeat for a few days to get that sparkling white smile. Doing this religiously may help you to a great extent in getting pearly whites.

5. Brush After Drinking or Eating

6. Hydrogen Peroxide
Mix 1 teaspoon each of 3% hydrogen peroxide and water. Use it as a mouthwash twice daily.

Note: Overuse of hydrogen peroxide can erode your tooth enamel. Do not use the remedies more often than recommended.
