As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility the Nigerian Shippers Council today donated items which include five pressing iron,10 Towels, 10 Bed Spreads, five Single Motor Hospital Beds and Bed over lay, one Refrigerator, one Washing Machine, one 5.5KVA Generator,10 Rechargeable lamps and 15 Mosquitoes treated Nets. Making the donations on behalf of the Executive Secretary/CEO of the organization the senior Public Relations Officer, Mr Hamza Ahmed said the program is an annual one in which Hospitals are picked randomly to be supported. Speaking further, Ahmed said the Council is happy with General Hospital Isolo for the good reports emanating from the hospital including satisfactory care for patients. Ahmed came in company of Helen Philips who is also a Public Relations Officer. They were received on arrival by the staff of the hospital, whose Joy knew no bound for this kind gesture by Nigerian Shippers Council.

The Medical Director ISolo General Hospital Dr Godwin Akhabhoa has enjoined Staff of the hospital to make patients' well-being their utmost concern. Speaking at an interactive session with staff on grade level 7-10, he told the staff who turned out in their large number to always put themselves in the shoes of patients whose minds are hardly settled because of their health conditions. Speaking further, the Medical Director /CEO) told the staff that they are the largest number and must always do the right thing at all times because the success of the smooth running of the hospital depends on them. Dr Akhabhoa also told them that they are very dear to his heart for this reason they must have a good attitude and be professional in whatever they do.

The monthly medical continuous education was today held in ISolo General Hospital, C.M.E .,as it is popularly called is map out to educate Health staff on their various fields and to acquire knowledge on issues surrounding Health sector as a whole. Presenting a paper tagged Health Record Structure and uses Mr Wusu Abdulhakeem of the record department said the record keeping is an extension of the doctors memory because they can forget as human, so record is there to serve as a reminder also to patients, Health workers, hospital management, researchers Government and educational community. Also Mr ofien Demeji a nursing suprident of the Nursing department presented a paper tagged Lassar Fever The Role of Nurses ,speaking Demeji said, Lassar fever is a severe and often fatal hemorrhagic illness ,discovery was in 1969 in Lassa village in Borno state northern part of Nigeria. Symptoms include bleeding, pain, vomiting, coughing, eat. For treatment Ribavirin should commence six days after infection is diagnosed. Demeji speaking further said to prevent Lassa fever death safe injection practices and safe burial practices should be encouraged, personal and protective equipment should be used. Medical Director /CEO Dr Godwin Akhabhoa and all staff were present at the program and it was sponsored by Standard Generics Limited

Lagos state government has commenced immunisation exercise against measles across the entire State for children between 9 months to 5yrs of age .According to matron in charge of child welfare at Isolo General hospital Mrs Toyin, Victoria Ayoola, said the immunisation exercise will run from22nd -29th of March. Ayoola said immunisation is safe and saves lives. Also mrs Adebisi modupe and her team from Lagos State ministry of health were on ground to ensure full compliance. Mothers who brought their babies for the immunisation exercise expressed gratitude and appreciation to Lagos State government for making the program free and on time. The Medical Director /ceo Dr Godwin Akhabhoa advice mothers present to help spread the Informationi.

With total submission to the will of God,the management and staff of General Hospital Isolo announce the death of our Jewel, a dedicated staff,a workaholic, ever smiling and down to earth Senior Matron, Bukola Ojelabi. She died on the 30th of April after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband Mr Sola Ojelabi, children, relations and entire staff of General Hospital Isolo. may God grant her gentle soul eternal rest Amen.

Akhabhoa, Isolo General Hospital Medical Director, wins three awards

The indefatigable Medical Director/CEO of Isolo General Hospital, Dr. Godwin Akhabhoa has won a total of three out of five Service Charter awards of the Lagos State Ministry of Health.

Dr. Akhabhoa received the awards yesterday at Alausa, Ikeja during the launching of Service Charter for three more Health Facilities in the State.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Dr. Jide Idris, while presenting the awards poured encomiums on the Medical Director, saying that he was not surprised Dr. Akhabhoa won the awards. The Health Commissioner said the rare feat achieved by the Medical Director was a confirmation of avalanche of commendation and recommendations which he has been receiving from patients and other stakeholders concerning Isolo General Hospital.

The three awards won by Dr Akhabhoa are: Best Performing Chartered Facility Medical Director for year 2017; Best Performing Health Facility for year 2017 and the Best Improved Chartered Health Facility for year 2017.

Early this year, Isolo General Hospital under the leadership of Dr Godwin Akhabhoa, emerged the best General Hospital in Lagos State. The letter of commendation written to Dr. Akhabhoa by the Lagos State honourable health commissioner, Dr. Jide Idris reads in part, "In recognition of your facility's satisfactory performance as evidenced by the scorecard presented for your facility and being one of the two facilities to score above 60 percent average, your leadership skills are indeed worthy of commendation."

The staff and patients of the hospital burst into jubilation when the news of the awards was received in the hospital. A cross section of both staff and patients said that Dr Akhaboa and the hospital deserve the awards. The medical Director, Dr Godwin Akhaboa who was overwhelmed with joy went round the hospital today thanking the staff and patients for their support and cooperation.
