ECWA COMMUNITY HEALTH INITIATIVE.
ECHI,manages
20 comprehensive health centers and 77
primary health centers all over Nigeria. It is
the bedrock of the ECWA Medical
department. The entire department evolved
from this program to attain the various
sophistications that we are witnessing today.
This program also represents the outlet by
which the church, through the department,
relates to the communities with health care
and evangelism. This is because the design
of the program ensures that the health
facilities are located within communities. The
main thrust of ECWA Community Health
Program is to package health care delivery
services in a comprehensive, compassionate,
holistic but affordable way to communities,
particularly to the less privileged.
We believe that the disadvantaged in society
have a right of access to services, resources,
knowledge and opportunity to improve their
quality of life. We seek to strengthen their
capacity to overcome the obstacles that deny
them this right.
The wealth of poor people is their capacity
and their “asset” . Of these, health is the
most precious and important. Having a fit
strong body is an asset to anyone; a sick
weak and disabled body is a liability both to
the person affected and to those who must
support him.
Vision Statement
ECHP envisions to be a dynamic self
sustaining health care Programme that
evangelizes through the provision of quality
(primary and secondary) services to ensure
healthy communities in Nigeria
Mission Statement
ECHP exists to glorify God through the
provision of physical and spiritual (holistic)
health care to underprivileged communities in
Nigeria
