Take a good look at the skin surrounding the ni**le; look at the ni**le also. It is called dimpling of the skin, like the skin on an orange or lemon. Sometimes, this is what breast cancer looks like. This is known as Peau d'orange, (ORANGE PEEL) and can happen when cancer cells block the lymph drainage of the breast, resulting in fluid accumulation in the breast tissue leading to dimpling. Cancer is not the only cause of this, but if you see this, SEE A DOCTOR ASAP! It's breast cancer awareness month. Let your wife, sisters, daughters and female friends know the signs to look for to make an early detection. We don't pray for breast cancer but early detection saves life.

The 2024 International Day of the Girl theme is ‘Girls’ vision for the future’.

This year’s theme conveys both the need for urgent action and persistent hope, driven by the power of girls’ voices and vision for the future.

Today’s generation of girls is disproportionately affected by global crises of climate, conflict, poverty and pushback on hard won gains for human rights and gender equality. Too many girls are still denied their rights, restricting their choices and limiting their futures.

Yet, recent analysis shows that girls are not only courageous in the face of crisis, but hopeful for the future. Every day, they are taking action to realize a vision of a world in which all girls are protected, respected and empowered.
But girls cannot realize this vision alone. They need allies who listen to and respond to their needs.

With the right support, resources and opportunities, the potential of the world’s more than 1.1 billion girls is limitless. And when girls lead, the impact is immediate and wide reaching: families, communities and economies are all stronger, our future brighter.

It is time to listen to girls, to invest in proven solutions that will accelerate progress towards a future in which every girl can fulfil her potential.

International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
2024 Theme: “The evidence is clear: invest in prevention”
The global drug problem presents a multifaceted challenge that touches the lives of millions worldwide. From individuals struggling with substance use disorders to communities grappling with the consequences of drug trafficking and organized crime, the impact of drugs is far-reaching and complex. Central to addressing this challenge is the imperative to adopt a scientific evidence-based approach that prioritizes prevention and treatment.

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, or World Drug Day, is marked on 26 June every year to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a world free of drug abuse. This year’s World Drug Day campaign recognizes that effective drug policies must be rooted in science, research, full respect for human rights, compassion, and a deep understanding of the social, economic, and health implications of drug use.

Together, let us amplify our efforts to combat the global drug problem, guided by the principles of science, compassion, and solidarity. Through collective action and a commitment to evidence-based solutions, we can create a world where individuals are empowered to lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

Let's break the silence and end the stigma around menstruation!
Menstrual disorders are common, and the lack of discussion of menstruation affects everyone, not just the menstruating person.
May we all strive for a world where menstrual health is prioritised, and every girl and woman can manage her period with confidence and dignity.

“Tears fall for a reason and they are your strength, not weakness.”

It’s imperative for children to understand that it’s okay to cry and express their emotions. One of the best things you can do to support your child’s emotional and personal development is to help them feel comfortable letting their emotions out. You can sit with them, listen to them, comfort them and reassure them that things will be okay.

We feel emotions for a reason; they give us a message about something. If you’re sad, usually something has happened that upset or hurt you. Perhaps there’s something you can do to relieve the feeling of sadness, or a lesson you can learn for the future so you won’t find yourself in the same upsetting situation again, or perhaps you just need to process something by letting the sadness out.

In commemoration of Children's Day to help children understand their emotions; Maheld-Aji Foundation (MHDF) engaged children in the Northeast region, Borno State, Nigeria to support their Mental Health and Wellbeing through activities that assists children to self-express their emotions through creative supportive PSS activities like art, drama, music, experience sharing of achievement and interactive session on the act of showing kindness etc.
This is aimed to guide children through different levels of feelings, such as the ‘emotionally stable’ zone and the ‘defence’ zone.

Every child is born a geniu and with "One book, one pen, one child and one teacher can change the world".
