*National Tuberculosis Testing Week*

They Standing Committee on Public Health SCOPH JUMSA Plateau State Chapter in collaboration with the Plateau State Ministry of Health embarked on an Outreach in commemoration of the National Tuberculosis Testing Week from 1st of August to 5th of August 2022.

As part of the exercise, We visited Ten Communities enlightening, Sensitizing them about Tuberculosis. Tuberculosis Test and HIV/AIDs Tests were carried out and those found positive were given free medication and treatment.
They Communities we visited are as follows;

Angwan Soya
Kabong Gada Biu
Jebbu Bassa
Gwamlar
Gana Ropp
Kwata
K-Vom
Ali kazaure
Angwa Mancha Lodun- Zawan
Sabon Gida.

In Commemoration of *World Health day 2.0 tagged "NiMSA goes to school" Our Planet Our Health.. and World No To***co Day 2022..*

SCOPH JUMSA embarked on an Outreach to Schools across Plateau State Sensitizing and enlightening them about how to prevent Our planet from air and water pollution and to also address the to***co epidemic especially in Plateau State, because according to Research To***co has killed more than half of it's users and more than 8 million people each year.

After the Outreach exercise, Success was Achieved.. They students now know the adverse effects this Ni****ne has on people, the negative effects and dangers of smoking to their health and how to keep their Planet, air and water clean from pollution..they also promised to avoid anything "to***co"

"This To***co you smoke has 75 percent substance causing Cancer in the body.. so quit smoking!!"

The schools we visited in the course of this Outreach are as follows:

Girls Child Education
GSS Township

Lastly, God has been faithful!. It wasn't easy but with God we Achieved Success.

*Rural Primary Health Care Project (RPHCP) and COVID-19 Immunization*

Yesterday, 7th May 2022, the Standing Committee on Public Health SCOPH in collaboration with the Standing Committee on Policy and Implementation(SCOPI) visited JENTA Adamu Community Primary Health Care in commemoration of the World Vaccination Week.

As part of the exercise, over 100 people in the community were sensitised on Covid-19 with over 50 people given vaccines on Covid 19. Follow-up measures were also put in place.

The Standing Committee on Public Health JUMSA remains committed to promoting public health advocacy, amplifying youth and students' voices in the advancement of public health interventions in Nigeria.

*SCOPH JUMSA COMMEMORATES WORLD ORAL HEALTH DAY 2022*

The Standing Committee on Public Health, Jos University Medical Students Association visited LEA Primary School Kabong, Jos, Plateau State on the 24th of March 2022 for an outreach to commemorate the World Oral Health Day.

The outreach was sponsored by NASCO Group of Companies, Colgate and donations from SCOPHeroes (SCOPH volunteers).

We were able to reach the over 600 school kids and teachers of the school, enlightening and educating them on proper oral hygiene, distributing *toothbrushes, toothpastes, mouth wash, cornflakes* and *biscuits* to the students. As a part of the exercise, we also conducted free oral examinations carried out by professionals.

The event was covered by the Plateau Radio Television Corporation (PRTVC) and Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Jos.

Thank you all for your support towards the promotion of public health through the Oral Health Day outreach.

The Standing Committee on Public Health is dedicated to amplifying youth and students' voices in the promotion of public health in Nigeria through public health interventions and initiatives.

This is to reach out to mostly kids, educating them on proper oral hygiene and sharing toothbrushes and toothpastes to promote oral health in our neigbouring communities.

Dearest JUMSA SCOPHeroes,
