Today, we recognise and appreciate the efforts of workers across all sectors.

Work keeps our communities moving, and behind every role is a person whose health and well-being matter.

At CPCI, we are reminded that prevention, early detection, and access to care are essential not only in hospitals, but in everyday life - including the workplace.

As we mark Workers’ Day, we encourage a culture where health is protected, symptoms are not ignored, and care is sought early.
Because healthy workers build stronger communities.

Today marks the close of World Immunization Week.

Under the theme “For every generation, vaccines work,” this week highlights the role of vaccines in protecting lives and preventing disease.

Vaccination remains one of the most effective tools in public health - helping to prevent conditions that can lead to serious health outcomes, including certain cancers.

HPV vaccination for example plays an important role in reducing the risk of cervical cancer.

At CPCI, we continue to emphasize prevention as a critical foundation for better health outcomes. Because protecting lives often begins before illness ever starts.

Last week, CPCI had the opportunity to be part of the SIOP Africa Conference, a gathering of leading voices in childhood cancer care across the continent.

As part of this, we presented our work on strengthening early childhood cancer detection through community and youth-led engagement in Nigeria.

This work is rooted in a simple but urgent reality: many children are not diagnosed late because treatment does not exist, but because early signs are not recognized and referral pathways are not activated in time.

Through our initiatives, including the Joseph Hope Project, we continue to focus on improving awareness, strengthening early recognition, and supporting pathways that connect children to care earlier.

Being part of SIOP Africa also provided an important opportunity to engage in broader conversations around health system readiness, reinforcing the need to connect community-level efforts with stronger clinical and system responses.

We are encouraged by the conversations, the shared commitment, and the growing recognition that early detection must remain a priority in improving childhood cancer outcomes.

The work continues.

On the occasion of the commemoration of the World Health Day, today; we are reminded that strong health systems are not built only through treatment, but through prevention and early detection.

When people understand symptoms early and have access to timely care, outcomes improve.

At CPCI, we continue to emphasize prevention as the foundation of better health, and early action as a critical step in saving lives.

Easter is a reminder of hope.

A reminder that even in the face of pain, uncertainty, and loss, life still holds meaning, and renewal is possible.

In health and in life, this message matters.

It reminds us why we continue to promote prevention, encourage early action, and support one another - because every life is valuable, and every life deserves a chance.

As we mark this season, we reflect on the power of hope, the importance of care, and the responsibility we share in protecting life.

Welcome to April.

A new month gives us another opportunity to strengthen the work of cancer prevention and early detection within our communities.

At CPCI, our focus remains clear - promoting awareness, encouraging early action, and building systems that support better health outcomes.

As we move through this month, we will continue to engage communities, support prevention efforts, and contribute to a broader culture where people recognize symptoms early and seek care on time.

The work continues - steadily and purposefully.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

For a long time, colorectal cancer was considered a disease that mostly affected older adults.

But that is changing.

There is a growing concern globally about increasing cases among younger people.

This makes awareness and early action more important than ever.

Some signs to pay attention to include:

Persistent changes in bowel habits
Blood in stool
Unexplained weight loss
Ongoing abdominal discomfort

These symptoms should not be ignored.

At CPCI, we continue to emphasize prevention, awareness, and the importance of seeking medical attention early.

Because when action comes early, outcomes can change.

Many cancer risk factors are preventable.

Healthy lifestyle choices, vaccination, screening, and early medical consultation all contribute to reducing cancer risk.

Prevention remains one of the most effective strategies in the fight against cancer.

This continues to stand at the core of our commitment.

Addressing cancer requires collaboration.

Governments, health professionals, civil society, and community organizations all play a role in strengthening prevention, early detection, and care.

CPCI remains committed to working with partners to advance cancer prevention efforts and improve outcomes in our communities.

Many cancers can be treated more effectively when detected early.

Yet in many communities, symptoms are ignored, misunderstood, or discovered too late.

Encouraging early recognition and timely screening is one of the most powerful ways to improve cancer outcomes.

At CPCI, promoting early detection remains central to our work in cancer prevention and care.

Today, we join the global community in marking International Women’s Day 2026 under the theme “Give to Gain.”

When we invest in women - in their health, knowledge, and well-being, families grow stronger and communities become healthier.

Women are often the first caregivers, the health decision-makers in households, and powerful advocates for prevention and early care.
Supporting women’s health therefore strengthens the entire health system.

At CPCI, we recognise the critical role women play in advancing cancer prevention, encouraging early detection, and supporting families through care.

As we mark this day, we reaffirm the importance of empowering women with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to protect their health and the health of those around them.

Because when we give women the tools to thrive, everyone gains.

We March with purpose.

A new month gives us another opportunity to strengthen the work of cancer prevention and early detection in our communities.

February reminded us that awareness matters. March calls us to build on that awareness with action - through engagement, education, partnership, and measurable impact.

At CPCI, our commitment remains clear:

Promote prevention practices
Encourage early detection
Support families navigating care
Build systems that improve outcomes

The work continues deliberately and purposefully.
