AMR CLUB UNIJOS | WORLD HEALTH DAY 2025

Theme: Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures

Today, On World Health Day, we reflect on how the smallest changes today can lead to a healthier, safer tomorrow. In a world increasingly challenged by Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), the call to action is louder than ever. AMR doesn’t just threaten individual health — it puts the future of global health at risk.

Antimicrobial Resistance happens when microorganisms like bacteria, viruses, and fungi evolve to resist the drugs designed to kill them. The consequences? Longer illnesses, more complicated treatments, and increased mortality — especially in vulnerable populations.

But there is hope. And it starts with healthy beginnings.

Whether it’s:

Using antibiotics only when prescribed by a professional,
Practicing good hygiene to prevent infections,
Avoiding self-medication,
Or supporting policies that promote responsible antimicrobial use,
Every action counts.

By encouraging healthy habits today, we lay the foundation for hopeful futures — for ourselves, our communities, and generations to come.

Let’s unite to protect our future.
Let’s act against AMR.
Let’s make every beginning a healthy one.

Happy World Health Day!
