Hey Fam, it's Wellness Wednesday!

Did you know coconut oil isn’t just for cooking?

While it adds a delicious flavour to dishes, coconut oil is also great for skin and hair care.

However, use it in moderation in your diet because it is high in saturated fat.

For haircare, you can use it for your hot oil treatment or to seal in moisture after hydrating your hair.

And for your skin, you can apply it on your cracked feet overnight as it is deeply moisturizing. You can also use it directly on your skin as well for a healthy glow and moisturizing feel.

How best do you love to use your coconut oil?

It's a New Week Fam

Happy Monday, lovely people! 🥰🥰🥰

As we start this new week, let's focus on nourishing our bodies and souls adequately.

Take a moment to reflect on what self-care practices you'll prioritize this week; whether it's a healthy breakfast, a morning walk, or a relaxing bath, a dash of natural seeds over your meals, a sip of herbal tea, or a haircare treat you've been postponing for long- whichever one it is, make time for activities that bring you joy and well-being.

So let's focus on👇

- Nourishing our bodies with whole foods.

- Prioritizing self-care and mindfulness.

- Being intentional about our goals and striving to achieve them.

- Don't let anything or anyone steal your joy. So find pleasure and joy in all you do this week.

Drop a ❤️ emoji on this text if you will be prioritizing any of the self-care practices prioritizing this week?

You already know I love you🥰

Do have a blessed day and a fruitful week ahead.

Seed cycling is a natural approach to that supports your body at various stages of life.

A lot of factors like Emotional, physical or mental stress, chemical or environmental toxins leading to excess cortisol release can affect your hormones.

Other factors like poor eating habit or even alcohol consumption can all contribute to imbalance of one hormone or the other.

Hormonal imbalance is one thing a lot of women face and it messes up a lot of things like excessive weight gain, infertility and even severe acne.

But with Seed cycling, it can help you to balance hormones that is out of place.

There are two phases or stages of seed cycling you need to follow.

From Day 1 to Day 14 of your menstrual cycle, you need more estrogen in order to build up our endometrium (uterus lining).

This is called the follicular phase.

*FLAX SEEDS* and *PUMPKIN SEEDS*will help to naturally increase your good estrogen level.

CHIA SEEDS

Chia means “strength” in the Mayan language. These seeds are highly used for medicinal purposes, religious rituals, nutritional value, and cosmetics. This powerful seed may promote heart health, improve gut health, support weight loss, improve blood sugar management and support bones.

Chia seeds are rich in anti-oxidants, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, calcium, zinc, copper, protein, magnesium and omega-3 fatty acids. In addition to minerals and vitamins, chia seeds contain l-lysine (an essential amino acid) and phosphorus which are known to restore, fortify and strengthen the hair fibres. This results in healthier, thicker and stronger hair, reducing hair breakage and hair shedding.

These seeds can absorb up to 9 times their weight in liquid. This means that when soaked, chia seeds have a thick gel-like consistency which can be used as a hair gel, hair conditioner, softening agent, hair detangler and hair mask. Also, they can help to boost elasticity , reduce hair dryness and make the hair silkier, shinier and smoother.

In addition, chia seeds have the ability to protect the hair from environmental damage, such as UV exposure. They also help to prevent scalp infections, makes the hair strands stronger, reduce scalp inflammation, promote hair growth and boost blood circulation.

Benefits of Chia Seeds

◾Makes hair thicker, stronger and healthier

◾Improves elasticity of hair fibres

◾Reduce hair breakage and hair shedding

◾Reduce free radical damage

◾Boost hair elasticity

Do you know that your hair has ears!

And guess what?

It HEARS!!!

You are always complaining about your hair and saying all sort of hurtful things and you expect your hair not to react?

How can you be saying stuff like;

"My hair can never grow past this length. that's how it has been for years."

"This hair? Don't even go there, it won't grow again"

"where I dey when God dey share better hair for una? see wetin I carry on top my head"😭

"You see this hair, nothing dey ever work for am! just leave am like dat"

"God am I a potato? why am I almost bald?"🥲
..and so many other things.

Yet you will be wondering why your hair has refused to thrive.

The answer is simple. Your negative words are taking effect on your hair and it is only acting out on what you've said.

One word I always tell my students that I coach during our hair growth challenge is to first drop every doubt and negativity they may have held on to in the past.

It is that strong faith and belief that makes anything you do going forward work for your hair.

If you do not believe that what you are using or plan to use on your hair will work for you, then don't even bother yourself, because you will end up wasting your money and at the end of the day, you may not record any positive results.

So you see how important your mindset is.

Hence the need for positive affirmations as it relates to your hair.

Learn to speak the reality you want to see in your hair and sooner or later, you will begin to see them actualize.

I hope you found this piece helpful.

Whatever you do, don't ever say negative words to or about yourself.

I don't care if you are quite unsure of yourself and you don't really know how to process your thoughts...

Irrespective of how you feel, please keep your thoughts in and never utter them, whether consciously or subconsciously.

This is because our words carry energy and these energies do not care about how we feel or if we mean those words of not.

If you do not take heed to what you say about yourself, don't be surprised to see those words becoming your reality.

That is why there is so much power in positive affirmations. But instead of utilizing it, you prefer to live in self doubts and negativity.

If you want to start recording positive changes in your life and affairs, then make it a duty to speak positively and command positive energies to work for you.

Ever heard about a Hair Growth Plateau?

This is when your hair slows down in growth or actually stops growing literally, yes, you heard that right.

If you know me very well, you must have heard me say at one point or the other that your hair never stops growing, and your only problem is that you are unable to retain length due to breakage.

But I beg to differ this time around.

If you are conversant with the science of hair growth, you will understand that our hair grows in cycles. The active growth phases are followed by the resting phases. But Plateaus occur when the hair follicles enter an extended resting phase, which may lead to a reduction or temporary halt in noticeable growth.

Some common causes of a hair growth plateau includes genetics, hormonal fluctuations, stress/ lifestyle factors, nutritional deficiencies, and environmental factors including excessive use of styling products.

It is very important to understand what it is and arm yourself with the necessary knowledge about the underlying factors contributing to plateaus, so that you can tailor your approach to address the root causes effectively, whether through dietary changes, lifestyle adjustments, or targeted treatments.

Normalize a certain standard of intimacy with your hair so that you can easily notice whenever something is amiss, like when your hair suddenly starts thinning out, or when the hair fall goes out of proportion as well as when you seem stuck at a particular length for a long time.

The earlier you notice this changes and take proactive steps to tackle the challenges, you will save your hair from plunging into further
deterioration that might lead to long term damage to your hair follicles. Addressing these challenges will boost your confidence and self esteem and help you in the overall maintenance of your hair.

I hope you found this piece helpful.

Love,

JoyCharity your favorite hair Coach.
