The Case of Baby Fatima
In one of the cubicles of SCBU at AKTH is a tiny fighter named Baby Fatima Umar. She battles against the odds. Born just 17 days ago, she faced her first battle with life-threatening intestinal atresia. She underwent an ex-lap surgery to correct the defect.
Sadly, her journey is far from over. She currently battles with anemia, thrombocytopenia, microcephaly and a possible congenital heart defect. Each day is a fight for survival for her. The doctors, nurses and her Fatima’s family work tirelessly to save her life, but that’s where the good news ends.
Financial restraints have made it impossible for Fatima’s treatment to continue and despite their best efforts, Baby Fatima's family are unable to afford the mounting medical bills. They watch helplessly as the hospital suspended her bill, leaving them and her in a desperate situation.
Currently, she needs 92k for her bill to be reopened. After the bill is opened again, her treatment will then be continued. For those that would like to help her, they can do that through the following:
