NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RESIDENT DOCTORS (NARD) 45TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) AND SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE PRESS BRIEFING HELD IN KATSINA STATE SECRETARIAT ON THE 26TH SEPTEMBER, 2025.

NARD had its 45th AGM/Scientific conference in Katsina state between Sunday 21st - friday 26th September, 2025 and deliberated on several challenges experienced by resident doctors in Nigeria.

While commending some states who have taken giant strides to improve remuneration and welfare of doctors, the association, among other issues, noted that, non-implementation of one-for-one resident doctors replacement, as well as brain drain, poor financing, non-payment of salaries and arrears, deteriorating infrastructural facilities are major challenges facing its members and the health sector in the country.

The association called on the Federal Government to work assiduously in addressing the challenges.

The AGM & Scientific Conference also witnessed an exchange of leadership batton from Dr. Osundara Tope Zenith to Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Usman of Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina as the new President of NARD for the year 2025/2026.

FEDERAL TEACHING HOSPITAL KATSINA RECEIVES DONATION OF MEDICAL CONSUMABLES FROM NARD.

The Ag. Chief Medical Director Federal Teaching Hospital, Dr. Nasir Aliyu, Executives of the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD led by the President Dr. Osundara Tope Zenith, and other dignitaries during the donation of consumables by the Association to the Hospital on the 23rd of September, 2025.

The event is part of the activities to mark the Association's 2025 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference, holding in Katsina state from Sunday 21st - Friday 26th of September, 2025.

The Ag. CMD while receiving the consumables expressed gratitude to the association for it's kind gesture and contribution to healthcare services in the Hospital.

OFFICIAL SIGNING OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU) BETWEEN POLICE HEALTH MAINTENANCE LIMITED (POLICE HMO) AND FEDERAL TEACHING HOSPITAL KATSINA

Members of Management, Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina alongside Head of Ibrahim a Commassie Police Hospital Katsina State Command, ACP. JO Oje representing the Police Health Maintenance Limited (Police HMO) during the signing of an MoU with the Hospital on Tuesday 24rd September, 2025.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is to provide health care services for trauma, accident and bullet wound for officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force in the Hospital.

NARD National Executives alongside Management staff of Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina during a courtesy visit to the Hospital to mark the association's 45th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference on Monday 22nd September, 2025 at the FTHK Board Room.

The team was received by the Acting Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Nasir Aliyu, the acting CMAC, Dr. Muttaka Maude, Director of Administration, Haruna Ahmed Zambuk and other management staff.

The NARD President expressed appreciation to the management for the continued support and cooperation accorded to ARD Katsina and the National body while also calling for more collaborations.

SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME ON THE NEWLY PASSED 2025 CYBERCRIMES ACT AT FEDERAL TEACHING HOSPITAL KATSINA

Staff of Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina during a day sensitization meeting on the newly passed 2025 Cybercrimes Act by the Nigerian National Assemblies (NASS) held on Wednesday 3rd September, 2025 at the Hospital's Conference Hall.

The programme was conducted with presentations on the Act by the Head of the Planning, Research and Statistics of the Hospital, Dr. Abba Muhammad and the Legal Officer of the Hospital, M.A. Abdulsalam Esq. with a view to ensuring absolute compliance by all staff.

The event had in attendance, the Ag. CMAC, Dr. Muttaka Maude, the Director of Administration, Haruna Ahmed Zambuk, other principal officers, Heads of Departments/Units, all IT Staff, the Chairmen, Secretaries, PROs of all the Unions/Associations in the Hospital, Confidential Secretaries and Personal Assistants in the Hospital.

‎SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH DIABETES MELLITUS AT THE FEDERAL TEACHING HOSPITAL, KATSINA.

‎Staff of Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina, Nutrition and Dietetics Unit, members of katsina communities in collaboration with Roche Products Limited during a one-day sensitization Programme for people living with Diàbetes Mellitus held on Thursday 14th August, 2025 at the Hospital's Modular Theater.
‎
‎The  event was  aimed at increasing public knowledge on Diabetes with emphasis on how to control blood sugar through a healthy diet, regular physical activity, healthy weight and regular blood screening to prevent complications.
‎
‎Highlights of the event include; talks by health experts such as dieticians, endocrinologists, ophthalmologists, orthopedists, among others as well as free blood sugar test.
