                                            NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RESIDENT DOCTORS (NARD) 45TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) AND SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE PRESS BRIEFING HELD IN KATSINA STATE SECRETARIAT ON THE 26TH SEPTEMBER, 2025.

NARD had its 45th AGM/Scientific conference in Katsina state between Sunday 21st - friday 26th September, 2025 and deliberated on several challenges experienced by resident doctors in Nigeria.
While commending some states who have taken giant strides to improve remuneration and welfare of doctors, the association, among other issues, noted that, non-implementation of one-for-one resident doctors replacement, as well as brain drain, poor financing, non-payment of salaries and arrears, deteriorating infrastructural facilities are major challenges facing its members and the health sector in the country.
The association called on the Federal Government to work assiduously in addressing the challenges.
The AGM & Scientific Conference also witnessed an exchange of leadership batton from Dr. Osundara Tope Zenith to Dr. Muhammad Suleiman Usman of Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina as the new President of NARD for the year 2025/2026.
