SENDFORTH PROGRAMME BY MHWUN FTHK

Association of Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina Branch during a sendforth programme for recent retirees at the Hospital's Conference Hall on Thursday 29th May, 2025.

The program led by the Chairman of the Association FTHK chapter, Comr. Mujahid Abdullahi aimed to honour and appreciate retiring healthcare professional and the association's past executive.

The event was graced by the Chief Medical Director, Dr Suleiman B.M various Head of Departments/Units alongside other Management staff of the Hospital.

COURTESY VISIT & AWARD PRESENTATION TO THE CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR FEDERAL TEACHING HOSPITAL KATSINA

Delegates of the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) under the umbrella of Northern Nigerian Students both home and abroad during a courtesy visit/award presentation to the Chief Medical Director Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina, Dr. Suleiman B.M on Thursday 22nd May, 2025 at the Hospital's Board Room.

The delegates led by Amb. Abubakar Dan Leman presented the Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Distinguish Leadership Award to the CMD, Dr. Suleiman B.M in recognition of his exceptional leadership, commitments and dedication to service. The team was received by the Management members of the Hospital.

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT AND BASIC AIRWAY MANAGEMENT TRAINING AT FEDERAL TEACHING HOSPITAL KATSINA (FTHK)

A two-day training program on Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Airway Management for both adult and paediatric patients was conducted at the FTHK from Wednesday, 14th to Thursday, 15th May 2025. The training involved 24 staff members selected from various departments of the hospital.

The training sessions were facilitated by Dr. Ibrahim Salisu, a Consultant Anaesthesiologist and certified American Heart Association (AHA) instructor. The training followed AHA guidelines and was organized under the hospital’s Life Support Training Centre.

2025 WORLD HAND HYGIENE DAY AT FTHK

Staff of Community Medicine Department, Infection Prevention and Control Unit (IPC) alongside Department of Microbiology Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina during the year 2025 World Hand Hygiene Day held on Monday 5th May 2025.

The event was anchored on the theme "it might be gloves. It's always hand hygiene". The programme was commemorated with power walk within the Hospital, sensitization talks across various departments and presentation by Dr. Abdallah Sanda (Consultant Clinical Microbiologist and IPC Focal Person FTHK) on proper hand hygiene.

The presentation was to promote optimal hand hygiene practices (using the appropriate technique in relations to the WHO 5 Moments) as well as the times for appropriate glove use within the health care workflow.

The event had in attendance the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Suleiman B.M, the SERVICOM NODAL Officer, Dr. Ibrahim Salisu, Head of Community Health Department, Dr. Abduljalil U.A, Head of Nursing Services, Nr. Risikat Sh*ttu as well as representatives from World Health Organization (WHO) and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

Management staff of Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina (FTHK) alongside staff of Federal Medical Centre Jabi, FCT - Abuja during a visit to the Hospital Friday 2nd May, 2025.

The visit was to understudy the Laboratory Departments of FTHK, it's structure and training programs
as well as other areas of innovation and development in the hospital for possible adoption and implementation in their Centre so as to enhance service delivery.

The delegates led by the Medical Director Prof. Sa'ad Ahmed were received by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Suleiman B.M alongside other Management staff.

SENDFORTH CEREMONY FOR HAJIA FALILA DARDA'U AT FTH KATSINA

Members of staff Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina during the sendforth ceremony for Haj. Falila Darda'u held on Wednesday 30th April, 2025 at the Hospital's Conference Hall.

The event was organized by the SERVICOM & Reform Unit to celebrate Haj. Falila Darda'u's commitment and dedication in ensuring improved service delivery in the Hospital and also to congratulate her on the well deserved appointment as the North-West Coordinator of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education (NCAOOSCE).

Before her appointment, Haj. Falila Darda'u was a member of the Hospital's Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, SERVICOM and Reform Unit, Coordinator of Admin Officers within the Clinic and Vice Chairman Medical and Health Workers' Union of Nigeria of the Hospital.

The event was graced by the Director Administration, Haruna Ahmed Zambuk, the Deputy Director Administration (Establishment), Nura Tanimu Gidado, the Assistant Director Administration (General Administration), Yusuf Abdullahi, Chairmen of JOHESU and MHWUN as well as other staff of the Hospital, family and friends.
