We officially celebrated completing the CHESA fellowship program on Health Equity in Surgery & anesthesia at the University of California San Francisco(UCSF) United States of America in the company of other fellows worldwide on the 12th of July 2024.
It was a great opportunity, and I wish to thank my mentors, Mary, Carolina, and Chris, who are based in different parts of the world. Their untiring support, guidance, and commitment to my dream of driving policy in the ear and hearing in Nigeria through research, capacity building, mentorship, and training of younger Physicians have been invaluable. I appreciate your sacrifice in mentoring me through every step of my research project and sharing your experience.
I also deeply appreciate the CHESA team and co-directors. Your tireless efforts and exceptional coordination of impactful training, focusing on global health to reduce healthcare disparity worldwide, have been instrumental in my journey.
To my Nigerian team, Dr. Ayodele and Dr. Rashidat, and all members of our team at the University of Ife and National Ear Care Centre Kaduna, respectively, I thank you for your commitment and belief in our shared vision.
Finally, I thank the USCF Global Health Sciences and CHESA for offering me a scholarship and grant opportunity for my project, including the opportunity to tell one of our stories at the AAOHNS-F in September.
I thank all my friends and mentors worldwide for their support. I believe that with global collaboration and deliberate effort for change, the world can be a better place for all of us to live.
