•[Hyper Lordosis]
Excessive anterior curve of the spine is known as lordosis .It usually affects the lumbar spine (lower back). In some cases, occur in the cervical (neck) area. Lumbar lordosis can be painful, too, sometimes it affect movements.

•Sign and symptoms
-“Swayback” posture with prominent buttocks
-Extra space beneath your lower back when you’re laying down on the floor.
-In more severe cases, lordosis may result in pain in back or legs , numbness or tingling in legs with weakness.
-In severe cases it may cause Bladder control problems
-Sometimes , it also lead towards neck pain (cervical lordosis)

•Cause
Most cases of lordosis is idiopathic (unknown).

•Treatment
Conservative treatment for the condition may include
-medications
-physical therapy
-braces
-weight loss.
-Surgery may be needed if the curvature is severe and causing other symptoms.

•Orthotic treatment
may includes Lumbo-Sacral Orthosis (LSO) and Lumbar Corsets.

HYPERKYPHOSIS
Kyphosis refers to the curvature of the thoracic spine. A normal kyphosis is 20 to 40 degrees of curvature, while a hyperkyphosis is greater than 50 degrees of curvature.

CAUSES
An abnormal kyphosis (hyperkyphosis) can be caused by osteoporosis, fractures of the spine, degenerative vertebral disks, tumors, or congenital defects.

CLASSIFICATION:
•Postural kyphosis
•Congenital kyphosis
•Nutritional/ Metabolic kyphosis•Post-Traumatic kyphosis
•Scheuermann’s Kyphosis (wedge shaped vertebrae)

TREATMENT
Depending upon the severity of the kyphotic curve , following methods are used to manage hyperkyphosis

1) Observation(for postural kyphosis)

2) Spinal orthoses (for curves > 65 degrees)
•High-Profile Milwaukee
•Low-Profile Milwaukee
•High Boston

SCOLIOSIS
Scoliosis is an abnormal lateral curvature of the spine. It is most often diagnosed in childhood or early adolescence( age 10 years). The spine's normal curves occur at the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions in the “sagittal” plane .

CAUSE :
In most cases, the cause of scoliosis is unknown and it usually can't be prevented. It is not thought to be linked with things such as bad posture, exercise or diet. If the cause of scoliosis is unknown, it is called idiopathic scoliosis.

TREATMENT:
There are three proven ways to manage scoliosis
1)Observation
2)Bracing - TLSO(Thoracolumbar spinal orthosis)
Boston brace - most common and acceptable one
3)Surgery.
Treatment depends on one of these methods based on the severity of the scoliosis and the child's physical maturity.

Spine Orthosis
Introduction
The human spine is a remarkable structure that provides support, stability, and flexibility to the body. However, due to various factors such as injuries, degenerative conditions, or postural issues, the spine can become compromised, leading to pain, instability, and reduced functionality.
Spine orthosis refers to a medical device designed to support and immobilize the spinal column, providing stability and reducing stress on the affected areas.

Types of Spine Orthosis
Rigid Orthosis
Semi-Rigid Orthosis
Soft Orthosis

Benefits of Spine Orthosis
Pain Relief
Improved Stability
Postural Correction

TYPES OF SPINAL ORTHOSES FOR DIFFERENT DEFORMITIES
•Minerva Brace
•SOMI Brace
•Milwaukee Brace
•Boston Brace
•Taylor Brace
•Cheneau Brace
•Tria C
