Cervical Cancer: Prevention is Better than Cure.
Cervical cancer indeed is a preventable disease but still ranks high as one of the leading cause of death among our women. This is unacceptable. Why should a woman die from cervical cancer. Could it be Ignorant, Poverty, Curse, Attack, or could be it has been destine that way. In this case I believe the hand of destiny can be altered by been proactive.
What you should note about cervical cancer.
1 It is preventable
2 it's cause is traceable to Human papiloma virus (HPV)infection early in a girls life.
3 The said HPV infection is through sexual intercouse
4 There is vaccines against this virus.
5 A girl between the ages of 9 to 13 years can take the vaccine. This is before exposure to the virus
6 After exposure routine check can be carried out to know the state of the cervix and to effect treatment if any aberration is found.
Ignorant is one of the reason why many died untimely.
Sometimes ago, a woman approach me with some complain bordering on foul smelling vaginal discharge. She has gone to several places, use many antibiotics( oral and injection), Many herbal mixture has been use all to no avail. On examination, there was a ragged shaped mass that has distorted her cervix and by extension upper part of her vaginal. Alas! It was painful because it should not get to this. She was ignorant about so many things.
Take charge of your health, be proactive and not reactive. Ask questions, seek for second opinion from people that knows. Don't live your life on myth and hear say.
