Federal Government Announces March 9 for YEIDEP Batch B Registration to Empower 20 Million Nigerian Youths.
The Federal Government, through the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP), has announced Monday, March 9, 2026, as the official date for the commencement of Batch B registration of the programme aimed at empowering up to 20 million Nigerian youths across the country.
In a statement issued by the Director-General of YEIDEP, the programme is designed to provide start-up capital, entrepreneurial support, and sustainable economic opportunities for eligible Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 50 years.
The registration exercise will be conducted nationwide. However, in Kano State, the process will be supervised by the State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf through the Kano State YEIDEP Steering Committee.
The statement further explained that Batch B registration will differ from Batch A, which relied mainly on an online portal for registration and bank processing. For Batch B, applicants are required to visit designated partner banks physically to open a YEIDEP bank account, which serves as the official requirement for registration and participation in the programme.
The Director-General emphasized that opening a YEIDEP bank account is the only legitimate way to become a participant and potential beneficiary, and stressed that the entire registration process is completely free of charge. Applicants are therefore advised to report any bank official or intermediary requesting payment for the process.
The programme also clarified that individuals who successfully registered under Batch A and already possess confirmed YEIDEP bank accounts are not eligible to participate in Batch B. However, those who registered in Batch A but did not receive confirmed accounts are encouraged to apply again.
The Director-General also issued a strong warning against duplicate or multiple registrations, noting that anyone found engaging in such activities will be automatically disqualified from the programme.
According to the statement, YEIDEP was established to address Nigeria’s persistent youth unemployment, poverty, and economic vulnerability, while also tackling the risks associated with youth radicalization, socio-political instability, national insecurity, and economic inactivity.
The initiative aims to promote entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and mass job creation by providing young Nigerians with the necessary financial and institutional support to start and grow businesses.
The following authorized partner banks have been designated to facilitate the registration and account opening process:
Fidelity Bank
Keystone Bank
Alpha Morgan Bank
Wema Bank
Union Bank
Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank)
Zenith Bank
Access Bank
United Bank for Africa (UBA)
Ecobank
Lotus Bank
Eligible youths across the country are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and participate in the programme as part of the Federal Government’s broader commitment to empowering Nigerian youths and strengthening national economic development.
