You know, this is one of those case reports that when published you will pop champagne!!!! Yes, you heard me right! You know that CNN 's slogan is just so cool , "be the first to know"! Hear this, uterine fibroids have been, and it is still ravaging black race, though not so much as it is with the Western world. If it must grow so big, one is almost certain that it will be in a black African woman descent! Apart from gene and chromosomal factors, attitudes with respect to health seeking behaviors, religion twist, and convoluted belief system play VITAL IF NOT MAJOR role in advancing this infirmity ! People are afraid of surgery! So they keep running away , further away, running far and distant and the running continues oooohhhhhhh until the fibroid mass will grow more than the weights of a triplet equivalent. I heard women believe that "agbo" will cure them, the worst is the use of ' vaginal inserts like caustic soda", common! Where and how can one defecate these uterine fibroid nodules during prayers? I am not playing down on miracles, but we need to apply some basic common sense a times. If the uterine fibroids weigh more than 11.4kg, then we classify them as a GIANT UTERINE FIBROIDS! Giant uterine fibroids are few worldwide. I was privileged to operate on one, as the led surgeon with a fantastic team. The lady is doing well and planning on having a baby. We have begged her to preach the good news that uterine fibroids surgery in good hands of trained Gynecologist is quite SAFE! What are you waiting for? 7 years after formal education versus 7 years after apprenticeship (igba boi) , which is more beneficial? a pertinent and burning question in our society! One appears to finish training then becoming his own boss based on the business acumen he learnt from his master, a creator of wealth and employment of labour while one appears to be paying the institutions with hard earned savings , then graduates and become employed by the established possibly the "nwa boi" with no formal education indirectly or directly. The "nwa boi" is however intimidated by the graduate scholar who is looking for the wealth that the "nwa boi" got on a Plata after concluding the "boi apprentice. How can one strike a balance when the graduate gets frustrated looking for startup funds from banks or other credit agencies who lists criteria to meet which is 40 to 50 % equity which the graduate does not have but ends up been an employee for ages. Is this a twist of fate or decision? I am aware that Havard is studying this "igba boi" concept.

I am still wondering why cervical cancer screening awareness is abysmally poor in Nigeria. Do you know that pap smear with a touch of HPV testing in eligible population can detect those women that need treatment for complete elimination of cervical cancer? Listen people, cervical cancer is debilitating and a killer. Help and tell any eligible lady to get screened. Let that lady tell her friends and let those friends tell other friends , their sisters and aunts, and then cousins. Spread this message and share it widely. Save our women from the scourge of cervical ♋️ cancer today. Health workers are NOT spared!

As simple as it sounds, periodic pap smear can save one from cervical cancer! Are you pap smear eligible? Visit the nearest clinic and ensure that pap smear is done for you if eligible. This is for those who have had s*xual exposure, please.
