I want to appreciate God Almighty. My Son turned 6yrs today. 🧬 Understanding Sickle Cell Inheritance

Sickle cell disease is inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern, meaning:

• You must inherit two sickle cell genes (SS) — one from each parent — to have sickle cell disease.

• If you inherit one sickle cell gene (S) and one normal gene (A), you have sickle cell trait (AS) — usually no symptoms, but you can pass the gene to your children.
