Did you know that in 2021, 68 million cases of malaria were reported in Nigeria with about 194,000 deaths recorded?
Malaria is a major public health challenge and as such, should not be taken lightly!
It is a disease caused by a plasmodium parasite, transmitted by the bite of infected anopheles mosquitoes with symptoms including but not limited to chills, fever and sweating, usually occurring a few weeks after being bitten. They are regarded as symptoms of uncomplicated malaria. Other symptoms are pain in the muscles or abdomen, fatigue, malaise, shivering, nausea or vomiting, rapid breathing with the most common symptom being headache.
🦟 Prevention
If there’s a cure, there is also a means to prevention. Here are a few;
♧ Cover your skin. Wear pants and long-sleeved shirts. Tuck in your shirt, and tuck pant legs into socks. It protects the skin and makes it less penetrable to mosquitoes.
♧ Apply insect repellent to skin.
♧ Sleep under a net. Bed nets, particularly those treated with insecticides help prevent mosquito bites while you are sleeping
Good news is that With Nkoyo Pharmaceutical’s wide range of Arthemeter/Lumefantrin combination antimalarials that come in different strengths for both the young and old, you are sure to knock out that uncomplicated malaria in just 3 days!
