WHAT IS CEREBRAL PALSY?
Cerebral palsy is a cogenital disorder which affects movement,posture, muscle tone and speech.
Is cerebral palsy genetics or not?
From its causes, one can say cerebral palsy is not genetic as you might think.
It is cause as a result of brain injury due to insufficient intake of oxygen into the brain during difficult birth, stroke, low blood sugar level, head injury, brain infection etc.
Most CP is majorly caused by insufficient intake of oxygen during difficult birth.
The foetus can also be affected when viruses like German measles cytomegalovirus, herpes infect the placenta and entered into the foetus during pregnancy.
How do you identify a CP person?
They have imbalance posture muscle tone and movement
Can CP be cure?
Their is no cure for CP but it can be treated with medications, therapy and sometimes performing surgery if the cause is related to head injury. All this treatment helps to improve their motor cognitive skill ability.
Types of CP
There are five major types of CP depending on the mobility limitations and affected body parts. The severity determine the symptom and treatment plan.
1.spastic
2. Ataxic
3.Athetoid
4. Hypotonic
5. Mixed CP.
