ORAL THRUSH (CANDIDIASIS) : CAUSES AND NATURAL TREATMENTS

Oral thrush, also known as candidiasis, is an infection caused by a fungus called Candida albicans.

It's naturally present on the skin, in the throat, and the digestive tract, this fungus can proliferate and cause a yeast infection.

Several causes can lead to this imbalance:

o Poor oral hygiene

o Wearing poorly maintained dentures

o Dry mouth

o Taking certain medications such as antibiotics and corticosteroids, and treatments such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy

o Certain diseases that weaken the immune system, such as HIV or diabetes

SYMPTOMS

There are three types of oral thrush, the main symptoms of which are:

1. Whitish deposits on the tongue and cheeks

2. Burning sensations in the mouth

3. Pain and inflammation of the tongue

4. Difficulty swallowing

5. Loss of taste

NATURAL REMEDIES

To treat your oral thrush, here are some natural remedies.

1. Salt Solution

Salt is a very effective natural remedy for oral fungus. Simply mix one teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water and gargle with this mixture 3 to 4 times a day. The salt will create a hostile environment for the fungus. This will gradually destroy it, and any associated inflammation will disappear.

If you can't gargle, you can rub the salt with your fingers on the inflamed areas. Then rinse your mouth with water.

2. Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)

Baking soda helps rebalance the mouth's pH and fight the growth of fungus. You can use it as a mouthwash or poultice.

For a mouthwash, dissolve 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and use this mixture to rinse your mouth two to three times a day.

For the poultice, mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with a little water to make a paste. Then apply this mixture to the affected areas with your fingers or a cotton ball. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse your mouth with water. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times a day until the infection improves and clears up.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar

Thanks to its antifungal properties, apple cider vinegar helps fight different species of candida. Prepare a mouthwash by mixing 2 teaspoons of organic apple cider vinegar with 1/2 tablespoon of salt in a cup of warm water. Use this solution to rinse your mouth several times a day until the inflammation subsides.

4. Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree essential oil is known for its antifungal and antiseptic properties, making it effective in fighting oral thrush. Simply mix 4 drops of this oil in a cup of warm water and use this solution as a mouthwash twice a day.

Be careful not to ingest this mixture and do not use this remedy on children or pregnant women.

5. Cinnamon

Thanks to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, cinnamon is an effective remedy for oral thrush. Prepare your infusion by boiling 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder or one cinnamon stick in two cups of water for 5 minutes. Add lemon and drink this drink two to three times a day for increased effectiveness.

Do not tilt your head upwards to prevent blood from flowing into your throat or airways.

3. Open your mouth and breathe through it.

4. Pinch the soft part of your nose against the hard, bony bridge of your nose.

5. Pinch for 5 to 10 minutes.

6. You can apply an ice pack to the bridge of your nose to reduce bleeding.

7. Avoid bending over, blowing your nose, or rubbing your nose after the bleeding has stopped.

When To Seek Medical Help

1. If you are unable to stop the bleeding after 15 to 20 minutes of using the above method.

WATER RETENTION (EDEMA) PROBLEM AND NATURAL REMEDIES

Do you often feel bloated? Or are your feet so swollen that you can't put on your shoes? You're probably suffering from edema, or more commonly, water retention.

This phenomenon is due to an excessive accumulation of fluid in the tissues. It frequently occurs in the feet and legs, but can also affect other parts of the body.

It can be caused by factors such as excessive sodium consumption (too much salt), poor blood circulation, lack of exercise, vitamin deficiencies, venous insufficiency (a problem with blood flow from the veins in the legs to the heart), stress, pregnancy, menstruation, heat, altitude, allergies, high blood pressure, heart problems, kidney problems, chronic lung disease, liver disease, thyroid disorders, certain medications, and oral contraceptives.

Water retention generally causes swelling in the affected areas. It can also cause joint stiffness, weight fluctuations, bloating, and increased blood pressure and pulse.

7 Effective Natural Edema Remedies.

1. DANDELION

Dandelion to reduce bloating and salt levels
A 2009 study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine showed that dandelion has a diuretic effect. It is therefore ideal for eliminating excess water from your body. Rich in potassium, it helps reduce sodium levels. Furthermore, its high magnesium content makes it ideal for relieving premenstrual bloating.
Pour a teaspoon of dried dandelion into a cup of hot water, let it steep for about 10 minutes, strain, and drink this herbal tea up to three times a day.

7. CRANBERRY JUICE

Digestion transforms the food we eat into nutrients that our body can use to carry out its various functions.

The human digestive system is very complex and is based on a balance that can be easily disrupted.
Digestion, the essential engine
It's not uncommon to read that the body is a machine of unparalleled complexity. In this metaphor, the engine is obviously the digestive system.

The nutrients that are transformed from the food we eat are the basis of how the body functions. Good health therefore inevitably depends on the quality of what we eat, but also on the proper functioning of the digestive process. For this reason, it is imperative to be vigilant after a meal so as not to upset our stomach.

5 Habits to Avoid After Eating

Now that you understand that the period following a meal is crucial and far from trivial, here are some habits to avoid after eating.

1. Exercise
