JOB ADVERTISEMENT - MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST
Organisation: Lifehelp Medical Diagnostic Laboratories in Lagos is seeking for applications from qualified persons.

Post: Medical Laboratory Scientist/Scientist-in-charge. The employment appointment to this post is scheduled for 1st of February 2023.

Academic/Professional Qualifications: Applicants need to hold minimum of BMLS (or equivalent) and have current professional practise licence (2022) authorised by Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and be willing to renew such annual licence in subsequent years. Ability to practise in multidisciplinary medical laboratory, both independently and within a team is required. Leadership quality and capability to supervise a team of about five staff is highly desirable while accountable to the Directors.

Personal Qualifications: Applicant must be of a good character, honest person, friendly and a good communicator, that can guarantee efficient communication with patients and other service users.

Specific Duties:
1) Consulting with patients and other service users to ensure most appropriate laboratory investigations are undertaking or adviced for appropriate referral, where necessary.
2) Involving in processing/investigations of clinical samples for the diagnosis of diseases, reporting appropriately and issuing reports to service users in timely manners.
3) Performing routine internal and external quality controls of laborarory reagents, kits, equipment etc
4) Participating in preparing appropriate standard operating procedure (SOP) and other relevant service related documentations.
5) Supervising other Junior laboratory staff, to ensure competency, efficiency and personal development, so as to guarantee progress and quality of laboratory services.
6) Overseeing daily services, sales records, incomes and expenditures for the purpose of monthly auditing by an appointed Auditor/Financial Director

Please, be aware that your duties are not limited to above, it depends on the needs of the organisation and services in relation to this post. An in-house training (and external training, where possible) will be provided at start of employment, to ensure necessary competency for quality and efficient services. Every staff is expected to engage in varieties of personal development/CPD that guarantees competency and quality of service
