STEP OUT!
Lessons from Matthew 14:24-31.

Just as it happened to Peter, a call to step out of the boat and walk upon the waters is challenging enough. It becomes more challenging when the sea is boisterous and the wind is contrary. It appears like a death-call but it isn't.

When God make such call, He has prepared and equipped you with all you need to walk and not sink. We shall often hear this call; in different times and pertaining to different situations in life.

We must have the courage to heed the call and step out of the boat (the safe place/comfort zone) in faith with our eyes firmly fixed on our Master; for Christ is in it with us just as He was with Peter in the midst of the boisterous wind and raging storm.

Not minding the storm and rising waves; we can triumphantly stride across and upon the waters only if we keep looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

Peradventure we shift our gaze from Jesus to behold the chaotic sea and we doubt and begin to sink; let not our voice be mute but we must cry out in prayer to Him that can ever save. That He may reach out to us soonest, cause us to stand again and take us to the true safe place of rest.

LET GOD HELP YOU!

“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it....” (Psalms 127:1)

Many times, we think, plan and structure our lives like one who knows tomorrow. Unfortunately, man is limited to the present and only to what he can see.

You don't know what wil happen in the next second or hour, you are limited to now, but God knows all things! He know tomorrow, He holds the master plan for your future, He has a purpose for your life!

Enough of trying to build your life yourself, LET GOD HELP YOU!

Have you tried to go forward but remain in one position? Is your family, child, finance or future having no hope? Is everything falling and failing? My friend, do not worry. There is a God who can and is ready to help you, LET GOD HELP YOU!

“Master, we have toiled all night but caught nothing” (Luke 5:5) were the words of a frustrated and disappointed fisherman, whose name is Peter. When Jesus helped him, in the same river, where he caught no fish all night, “they caught a great multitude of fish” (Luke 5:6) by day.

Another man brought his child to Jesus, he said: “If you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us” (Mark 9:22), Jesus helped him and ended his sorrows. Jesus want to help you too if you will come to Him and Let Him.

He said: “Come to me, all ye who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest “ (Matthew 11:28)

If you are yet to give your totality to Christ, the first step is to receive Him as your Lord and savior. If you have done this, then take your life to God in prayer, LET GOD HELP YOU!

THE SINNER’S HOUSE BECAME THE SAFE HOUSE

# Lessons from Joshua 6:22-25

• She is a well-known pr******te.
• She lived on the wall of the city.
• She could be described by no other name but “PR******TE”.
• Yet her house became the safe house.

Her father must have rejected her, her mother might have given up on her, relatives will probably pretend never to have known her and her siblings would have been embarrassed about the profession of their sister – PR******TE. However, her house turned to be the safe house.

She saved herself, her father, her mother, her brothers, her relatives and all that she had in the house (V. 22-23). One will wonder, how can the house of a terrible pr******te become the safe house?

The house of the pr******te became the safe house all because of a red rope (the thread of redemption) hanging down her window.

“Here is what you must do: Hang this red rope out the window through which you let us down and gather your entire family with you in your house — father, mother, brothers, and sisters. Anyone who goes out the doors of your house into the street and is killed, it's his own fault — we aren't responsible. But for everyone within the house we take full responsibility. If anyone lays a hand on one of them, it's our fault.” (Joshua 2:18-19 MSG)

She was not perfect, with natural judgment, she should be destroyed because of her sinful lifestyle, yet, she and all that she had in her house were saved. All because of a red rope.
In addition to been saved, she got an inheritance among God’s special people.

“But Joshua spared Rahab the pr******te, with her family and all who belonged to her . . . and she lives among the Israelites to this day.” (Joshua 6:25 NIV)

Furthermore, her name was enlisted in the genealogy of Jesus Christ (Matt 1:5). A red rope changed everything about the sinner. It saved her from perishing, made her house become a safe house and enlisted her in the genealogy of Christ.

The red rope signifies the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus can cleanse you from all sins, it can change a sinner to saint, it can make somebody out of nobody, and it can save from the wrath of God to come (Judgment).

Don’t give up on that child, don’t reject your sibling, never give up on yourself, the atonement for your sins has been made. Only believe and ask for the blood.

“For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matt 26:28-29 NKJV)

“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus” (Heb 10:19 NKJV)

The blood of Jesus is available for your cleansing and molding. Say this prayer:
Father, I thank you for the atonement you have made through the blood of Christ. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and that His blood was shed for my cleansing. Wash me in His blood today and make me your child. I accept and confess Jesus as my Lord and personal savior. Amen.
