In addition to the training of students in the institutes own laboratories and classrooms, students are placed in appropriate establishment such as hotels, fast food industries and other organizations "on-the-job" practical training for a period of 12 weeks or longer. This Industrial Training is a compulsory exercise for every student and serves as a prerequisite for the award of certificate or Diploma of the Institute. EXTERNAL EXAMINATION
In addition to the Institute's own terminal and final examination which lead to the award of particular cetificate or diploma, the institute prepares its students for several external examination such as (i.)National Business and Technical and Technical Examination Board NABTEB
(ii.) Trade Test Examination (Lagos State Examination Board)
(iii.) Certificate and Diploma in food hygiene of the West Africa Health Examination
