If protecting everyone doesn't include s*x workers, are we truly protecting anyone?

Often, project implementers and organizations shy away from addressing the needs of s*x workers due to stigma and societal judgment. Yet, they remain a key population in the fight against HIV. Excluding them only weakens our collective efforts to achieve lasting impact.

This could be the major CSR project your organization takes on this year. Let's collaborate to make it a reality.

Can you be as confident as he is?

There’s a confidence that comes from taking charge of your health. Make it a goal to prioritize your health this year, 2025:

✅ Eat right
✅ Exercise regularly
✅ Get tested for HIV
✅ Abstain from s*x or practice safe s*x
✅ Avoid sharing sharp objects

Your health is your greatest asset—take the steps to protect it.

Our team had the privilege of joining and supporting the OTZ Club December Hangout, a remarkable support group for adolescents and young people living with HIV/AIDS at the Antiretroviral Clinic in Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba.

During the hangout, we connected with dedicated staff members who shared some of the pressing challenges they face in their work.

Some stories heard were heartbreaking. A major concern raised was the persistent gap in preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV. Some private hospitals fail to adhere to proper protocols, and traditional birth attendants often lack the awareness and training needed to prevent transmission during delivery. This negligence leaves countless lives vulnerable and highlights the urgent need for intensified education, advocacy, and systemic change.

❌ HIV and AIDS are NOT twins!

HIV is the virus, AIDS is what happens when HIV isn’t treated.

Science says: Treat HIV, and AIDS won’t get the chance to show up.

As part of our World AIDS Day activities, we were live on Mainland Fm 98:3 Lagos on the Mother and Child Show with our sister organization HIV Trust Fund of Nigeria to raise awareness about HIV and discuss the critical topic of Preventing Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) of the virus.

We emphasized the importance of early testing, access to antiretroviral therapy (ART), and consistent medical care to ensure that no child is born with HIV.

A generation free from HIV is possible!

Take the rights path—a path of hope, love, and unwavering action.

A path where no one is left behind, where everyone knows their status, and where stigma has no home. A path where access to life-saving treatment isn’t a privilege but a right for all.

Today, we remember those we’ve lost to AIDS and honor those living courageously with HIV.

Together, we can end HIV/AIDS and create a future where the fight is no longer necessary.

It’s not World AIDS Day yet, but today we pause to remember the lives lost to HIV/AIDS.

The progress we’ve made cannot be taken for granted. With international funding for HIV in Nigeria gradually dwindling, a critical question arises: What happens when these organizations eventually stop funding Nigeria’s HIV response?

Will we return to an era where people die from HIV/AIDS-related causes due to lack of treatment and lifesaving ART?

We must act now—strengthen our national HIV response, invest in self-reliance, and ensure no one is left behind. The fight isn’t over, and lives depend on it.

There are many communities where HIV testing is unheard of—where the virus itself feels like a myth.

Without the knowledge or resources, these communities face a higher risk of contracting and unknowingly spreading HIV. Rituals and customs involving shared sharp objects further deepen the danger, with no awareness of the invisible threat they carry.

HIV is real, and so is the need for education, testing, and care.

With treatment, awareness, and support, people living with HIV are thriving-and often defy outdated stereotypes and notions about them.

You can't tell who is living with HIV just by looking at them. The truth is that it's a condition, not a definition.

Hate the disease, not the people. Together, we can end the stigma.
